Okay, I've heard the same tune used for pitching Dr. Pepper, some car, and Big Lots. Is it for real or just a jingle that's getting passed around?

It doesn't even have words, just some scat singing and something that sounds like "Manamana" on the down beat. It was really clever as a bit for Dr. Pepper, but now it's getting old. And I still don't know anything about it...except it's more tenacious than that song about a small world...

And the title is: "?"

The song ("Mah N Mah N") was written by Piero Umiliani and was very popular in the late 60's. Jim Henson picked up on it and about a year after its release, "Mahna Mahna and the two Snowths" (seen in the video above) appeared on Ed Sullivan performing the song. It's probably the most popular and well-known version today, though the song was definitely a success before Henson did his version.

Another popular version currently is the cover by Cake, which I believe is used in a few of the commercials mentioned.

The song pops into my head every time I hear someone say; "Penomenon."

Doo doo do do do!
"There's no time to lose," I heard her say.
"Catch your dreams before they slip away."
"Dying all the time, lose your dreams and you could lose your mind.
Ain't life unkind?"

If a song pops into your mind, it is a great pop song.

Ma Nah Ma Nah is a fantastic song for a magic routine. At magic camp, it is a very popular song to use in the acts Smile

I have seen Peter Mennie use it in his Six Card Repeat routine, and I have even seen it used in a strait jacket escape.

It was also known as Phenomena later on, but I prefer the original version.

Oh man I have not thought about that song in awhile! Now it is stuck in My head and I am rather enjoying it! Yes I remember the muppets doing it. I remember it back when it was getting airplay on the radio! Yes I know I'm showing My age. But for a song like this it's ok!
