I'm curious how you guys get into a Sponge Bunnies routine? Do you take them out of a purse frame, tear a jumbo bunny in half to get two normal size bunnies, or simply pull them out and say "here are two rabbits.....".

Also, do you leave the climax alone with the multiplying bunnies or do you do a climax on a climax with a jumbo or some other idea.

Just thought I'd lighten the mood a bit...

I always say:

"You know how a lot of magicians pull rabbits from their hats?? Yea...I'm not one of them." -Pause- "I keep them in my pocket!" Always gets a laugh...

Or, sometimes I pull them out from someones ear. I remember somoen on here saying they use sponge carrots as an opener. I might have to look into that.

Best.

Produce the first one from the pocket and then ask spec to hold and tell them to hold tight because 'you know what could happen if two bunnies get to gether' and you actually loaded an additional big bunny on 'em so when you ask for the bunny back and they open their hand you have the second plus it is a good joke.

I actually end another routine with the rabbit being a sort of "by product" of that routine, then go into the rabbit routine.

I usually mime pulling a hair from the spec's head and say, "Mind if I borrow a hair? I personally call these bunnies but some people call them a hares (hairs).

Or do the same to myself and say, "One moment while I get a hare..... same story as above.

Someone told me about a Rabbits going to town story. Makes the effect very Adult oriented. I love it just, I forgot the story. Hey brother if you are out there, PM me with the patter again. But normally what I say(DEPENDING ON MOOD AND AUDIENCE). I ask a pretty girl if she has ever kissed a rabbit between the ears. I get laughs and gasps as I reach both my hands into my pants pockets, then I pull out two rabbits, getting another set of laughs.

I have my own routine with specially made goshman bunnies called "My Bunny Daryl"

The effect is available through Murphy's Magic and magic shops worldwide.

When I bring out the first bunny, I hold it in cupped hands telling the audience I brought a bunny into the restaurant. I sneak a small peak to a few spectators (not enough to see what it is) Then the last spectator I open my hand while squeezing a squeaker. Then after the heart attack moment. I offer them to squeak the bunny. They can't but I can. Then I reveal the squeaker.

Meet Daryl and his other brother Daryl and Daryl Hanna. These bunnies are fast!! Jumping from magician's hand to spectator's. Finishing with Giant Momma Rabbit. A complete routine with Special cut Soft Goshman bunnies, Patter, Jokes and Moves. This will become one of your favorite family friendly routine!

• Wanna meet my Bunny?
• His Other Brother
• The Race
• Where is the sister?
• The Momma Bunny

Mark Byrne AKA Mark the Balloon Guy:
"I love the sponge bunnies, it might be one of the most powerful tricks in magic. However for years the ending has not been family friendly. The rabbits they well ... do you know what, in someone's hand. The ending of this routine ends in a most pleasing way. It is a trick you can show Grandma and she will approve. "

Cody Fisher :
"Finally a sponge bunny routine I can show the whole family. Every where I
have gone magicians went nuts over the quality of this prop. Definitely an all round winner "

Oh yeah the best part the rabbits are white!!! Not red or gray. Actually bunny colored.

God Bless you Danny.

Am I the last person alive that hates this stupid trick?

I'd rather watch a guy with a mullet do Tenyo tricks than watch sponge rabbits.

How can you not like the sponge bunny trick? Traditionally, I play for adult audiences...and this is one of the few kid tricks that plays great for adults...maybe even more so b/c of the extra humor you can do that you can't with kids as paisa23 pointed out (LOVE THAT GAG MAN!!!).

I think this is the first time I've ever heard of another magi not liking this effect.

Because in my book, it's the equivalent of pinching the face of a toddler and pretending to steal their nose.

Unless that toddler has a mullet.

So you must do magic for yourself then? Because if you do magic for lay people then you KNOW how powerfull of an effect it is.

I do a lot of different killer effects in my walk around work and I am constantly amazed at why people come back with friends and request the "thing with the bunnies". I don't really "like" them either, but I don't do magic for me.
