I have considered this on another thread.
I believe that smilies can make anything better, for instance. Yesterday I got mad at my wife's dog so I ran outside and grabbed the dog by the scruff of it's neck and began to skin it alive with it's own teeth . It was making all sorts of noise now, but not barking I began eating it, it was glorious. I finished by eating it's still beating heart Well my wife got home and was pretty stunned but I fell asleep on the couch wished my wife a happy birthday and washed the last nights dinner with a nice bottle of champagne Well I hate everything and am filled with hate This story isn't completely based on reality. But it may prove my point.....

A smilie is only good for light-hearted mails. The moment you write, I am sad and add a cute picture to it, I would imply that you are not too sad.

Right! My point exactly. You can write whatever you want, honestly, no matter what evils are vocabularized (Is that a word) and it won't seem that bad.
It's like putting clown makeup on an ugly person (Pretty much every clown ), they're still ugly, but now seem funny.

The downside is that people will not take you seriously . . . but I guess, that is the price to pay for the freedom to insult

I still can't get the *** smilies to work.
Any one want to explain how?
