Dave
I love your directory, I'm very happy with my listing on your directory, and if my web address was a hot link to my site I'd be even happier.
Iain
I'm not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree, but I have had a web site for over 9 years, I have been approached by more than a dozen directories in those 9 years, and of those 12 or more directory offers Dave has made me the best one so far.
THANKS

I didn't attack either, I actually said "benifit of the doubt" as I recall.

BUT I still have reservations about price shoppers, which this WILL attract no matter what.

Magicians seems to be the cult that can get p***y over anything (jealousy)... But hey the directory is FREE if you don't like the cost or the way he links you.... Save your money (???) and don't place your info on the site....

I think it is great..... Let the guy enjoy his hobby..... who cares if he has his link on his OWN SITE!!!!

Good luck with your listenings....

I love when the only motive anyone can have is Jealousy! It is a completly undefendable position.

Some have questions, are they jealous? No they just want clarification. I for one didn't attack him and extended the courtesy of benifit of the doubt, but I didn't see anyone being jealous. That itself is laughable.

ANY time someone disagrees on this forum now people say "your jealous". It is crazy. People can disagree agreeably, and not be jealous. They can be passionate and disagree disagreeably and still not be jealous. Silly really.

I don't like the taste of Dr. Pepper, am I jealous? I don't like rap music, am I jealous? Please can we stop ascribing motives to people?

Curtis if you can't remember what you write, at least read it please before you say you DIDN'T mention jealousy LOL.

Aside from the fact that I was talking about how the very idea that a counter opinion is simple jealousy is, well to be frank kind of silly in its origin.

HMMMM.

I think it's a nice idea. And even if it was a scam, which doesn't make sense, he's not charging anything. So it's not like he'd be scamming any of us. I think it's a very nice idea, and I think what Dave is doing is a great thing. I think he should be congratulated, instead of being accused of scamming.

Just thought I'd point this out. He never stated the he didn't mention jealousy. He stated that he never said that you, in particular, were jealous.

I believe Dave's motives are correct but he is sort of getting an agents fees for his efforts and money he is spending to run the site. His own sight is linked from the front page twice and that means more clicks to his site which raises his own rankings.

He's benefiting from it but NOT AT ALL hiding that fact so no complaints here. If you don't like it you don't have to sign on.

However just because something is free doesn't mean its not a scam.( not talking about Dave's site here ) Many other sites that list performers and not their contact info ( for free ) are taking advantage of that performers good name. Many of these web agencies get a client who found them looking for so-and-so and then they pull the bait and switch saying..." So-and-so is booked but we have this other guy who is just as good"

I've had friends of mine who are performers call those agents and ask to book themselves only to be told they are unavailable. LOL

Oh...yeah and I'm jealous of EVERYONE who ever lived. I'm admitting it now so nobody ever has to tell me I am....in future threads!!!!LOL

Best,

Tim

Hi all,

Just to let you know, that I have now restored all links back to active in the US, and am currently working on the rest.

Hopefully this should keep everyone happy.

Any other suggestions for the site and how I could possible make it better would be much appreciated.

Kind regards

Active links aside let me center on my question.

Does this not encourage people to price shop? Does it not give them a very convienent way in which to do so?

Yea it gets your name out there, with thousands of others am I right? It seems the exact opposite of what, at least I, am lookinng for.

I am not saying it is bad, I am not saying it is a scam, I am not saying don't do it, I am trying to see how it all works is all. IF you have 2 guys kind of near each other, or a corporation looking for an act, it seems to me all you are providing is a way for them to price hunt. Which everyone agrees is frustrating.

Danny -

Does that fact that the grocery store offers more than one type of "macaroni and cheese dinner" in a box, mean that only the cheapest is purchased?

Not necessarily.

- Donald

P.S. That being said, I still have mixed feelings personally about being in directories with other magicians. Sometimes it's ok, and sometimes not.
