Is there a directory of prices for USED magic books?
I have over a hundred used magic books that I would like to sell, but I need to know what the current marketplace will bear. Most of the books are in very good condition. DaiBato |

You might search by title on the "big auction" and get a feeling for the value of each.
However, be aware that often times the final bidding price far exceeds the realistic value(s). Julie |

If you send H&R Magic Books a list of what you have, they should be able to help.

I believe there would be many here that may be interested to buy them. Do you have a list?

JamesTong, I have had problems mailing books out of the United States.
What is the postal system like in Malaysia? You can pm me if you prefer. DaiBato |

Yo:
I first try Ebay just to see if anything shows. Then if you go to Google and type in USED BOOKS you will get a variety of sites that specialize in used books including magic titles. I have frequently found books listed on those sites with prices to give me some idea of what a used book is worth. Best,
Brad Burt

What problems did you have, in the past, sending them outside USA? Perhaps declaring them as used second hand magic books or educational materials may help. . |

I've asked this question of several magic book dealers, and find I usually get a similar response. They all seem to agree that pricing will go up and down quite dramatically, based on demand, availability and reissuing. For example, I have seen Oritz's book "Strong Magic" sell on eBay for $200 when it is out of print. When republished, the used market prices fall to the suggested retail or even lower.
Another suggestion may be to run a reverse auction, where you start high and drop the prices incrementally over time. Just my thoughts and best of luck. Mike |
