While looking for funny videos of people missing the first question on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, I came across this video. I just... can't get my head around this at all. How is this possible? Many people commented saying the audience was trying to trick him, but this is obviously not true because some of them would have chosen the other two answers. Not everyone who was trying to trick the man would have picked the same answer. Well... enough... watch and be as bewildered as me. James |

That's exactly what my Dad said when I showed this to him. There's some things that I think most people will know and you are somewhat taken back when they don't... But I think this is on a completely different level. It's exactly like what a comment on the video said... It's like half the audience voting that the earth is flat. Questions like that and the one in the above video are on a completely different level. It literally blows my mind.

Who is that talking over the clip?
Frankly, I got it right, but wasn't really certain how. English rules have always baffled me, but I still knew the Earth went around the Sun and not vice/versa.

There are certain question that you'll find the majority of people will get wrong because they are not really listening but responding to a couple words. One of those is "How many days does it take the sun to rotate around the Earth?". The mind puts it together logically as "how many days does it take the Earth to rotate around the Sun" and they answer that question and will be puzzled when told they are wrong and then it will hit them what the question was. That doesn't surprise me.
I'll be honest, I went through college, granted years ago, but I do not recall ever hearing the term 'active speach' or 'passive speach'. |

I get it from Microsoft Word on the few occassions when I try to write something. The grammer checker will tell me that certain sentences are "in passive mode."

Yeah, Ive seen that video as well. Pretty bad... When 75% of the people tell you it's something, you're almost always certain it's right. (except of course in the video I posted lol)
If he would just take the time to think about the question... I RAN, I did RUN, I AM RUNNING. Verbs change tenses. MagicSanta - that was kind of the conclusion I came to originaly, but I'm not so sure that explains what happened there. Maybe if you asked someone on the spot, they could get confused and say the wrong answer. But for half the audience to get a question wrong like that after having seen the question for a long period of time before having to answer it (while the guy was thinking) and while not being under any kind of pressure, etc... That's just crazy. Still very funny! James |

My favorite part is when they say... " I know its A or B but lets go for the 50/50." and then the "computer" removes C and D as choices." LOL This happens WAY to many times to be random selections as they claim.

I have noticed that, seems to me that it works out way too often to be an actual coincidence!
