Just wish it showed a bit more of the routines, such as the afgan bands, and others, but still a good video. Though I still think it is a 50's not a 40's film of Uncle Harry, maybe Richard Huges will recognize the era it is from.

It is from the late 1940's early 1950's. The big show pretty much went into monthballs about 1952. Senior did some movie house work but his asmtha and the problems with keeping a big show on the road pretty much ended the touring of the big show.
The flowers were one of the acts keep in until the end. A lot of the talking routines were done as fillers for television spots. They later showed up on a lot of "You Asked For It" segments. Those are available from Bill McIlhaney. Richard

I have letters where Senior asked for neon colors for the new show. They were reproduced in the Linking Ring in July along with an article on Marshall.

I was lucky and got to see his show 12 times when he played the Orphum in Oakland, Calif. I volunteered for the committee so many times and handed him my watch as I went onstage to save him doing the "steal."

This film was actually shot in Indianapolis - I believe by Frank Dailey.

I wish it was not removed from YouTube. I am doing a novel on the great illusion shows from the past, and I would love to have this for my research.

I wish it wasn't removed, also...
I have this grouping of videos with Thurston, Dante, and Blackstone, Sr. Most in B/W, but Sr. was in colour...probably early '50s. Quote:
