I have been searching through the threads looking for book reviews for ring and rope magic.
Most of the threads I find relate to just rope magic, I wouldn't mind getting a book with both, but I want to start with the ring and rope magic. What books would you recomend, or please point me to a thread that would help. Also does Abbott's Encyclopedia of Rope Tricks (dover edition) have a chapter on ring and rope magic. |

Hello
Dave Williamson has a great little routine on his Dave 2 DVD, Dave's stuff is always worth looking at, I think the routine is also in print but for life of me I can't think of where. Scott |

If you are talking about 3 - 6" rings and rope then the new Encyclopedia of Rope Tricks (as mentioned by Magiguy) and Fulves Self-Working Rope Magic has some too. There is a limited amount in the Tarbell series.
You can find ring and rope in V2 & 3 of Daryls Expert Rope Magic (DVD) I am not aware of a single book that really focuses on this (although I've not seen Willmarths work) - the Ency. probably has the most, and is a good purchase for all the other stuff it has. If you are interested in finger ring and rope (also referred to ring and string), then the same sources have this type of effects, but the real resouce seems to be Wilson's Ring Leader (DVD). In the DVD, Wilson refers to several books, but these tend to be older (and I'm assuming, out of print) books. enjoy

I know the thread title says "book" but I have enjoyed a DVD named.
"World's Greatest Magic Ring on Rope" By the way: Steward James' Encyclopedia of Rope Tricks has quite a few rope/ring tricks. Haven't counted how many yet as I am staying busy with the rope part(s) of this book. P.S This is by Squash Publishing and I don't know if it is the same or different than the previously mentioned Abbott book. But it has 11 chapters and 435 pages. First edition (current printing) released in 2005.
An idea can turn to dust or magic, depending on the talent that rubs against it.
