I'm interested in buying the “Silks Between” effect. This has a clear Plexiglas board (with stand) with three holes in it. Basic effect has one ungimmicked silk in each hole; the middle one is vanished and reappears tied between the other two. I also once saw this described as a “Crystal Silk Stand” in an old Mak catalog. I see that Abbott's advertises one for $20 in their pdf catalog and Daytona Magic has one for $18. Can anyone comment on either of these? I have an old India-made "Advanced 20th Century Silks" which uses a hollow black board (rather than clear), lacks a stand, and now has a crack on one side, so I'm looking to upgrade. Any help would be appreciated.

Christopher,
Mine is at least 25 years old and is 6.75" x 3.75" for the base. The upright stores in the base for travel. It was not made in India. The instructions are for "Silks Between" and typed on a cloth ribbon typewriter! There is a graphic with the name but not on the instruction side of the sheet. It has served me well over the years. However, I still prefer the good professional 18" 20th Century Silks to this prop. The price is about the same but includes good silks. 20th Century Silks does not require a table and can be done surrounded. Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |

My 1st choice would be the Abbott's model.
