Hiya, Magi:
I'm not sure if this is a trend where you're at, but in the last few birthday shows I've done (mostly kid shows, but a handful of adults' parties, too) the audiences have been REALLY small. One show this past weekend had six kids watching, along with perhaps 10 adults. Not complaining, mind you, as I get paid regardless, but is anybody else noticing a tendency towards smaller parties? |

I get a big mix of b-days. I just did one that had about 15 kids and 50 or so adults, and I have done another recently that has 5 kids and 3-4 adults. When you do b-days you will get all kinds and sizes of audiences.

My shows have actually had large audiences with an even number of adults as there are children.
It may because the time of the year too. -john |

I recently was hired to perform at an event with about 20 people, doing strolling magic for an hour. Originally, there were going to be 35, but not everybody showed up. It turned into an hour-long close-up show lol.

There are times we just do not know what to expect. There was a time I performed for cabaret in Singapore and there was only 2 audience member there. Imagine performing in a big place and only 2 people watching your act. This happens to be one of their very low traffic day.

I believe, the most important thing is, we are paid - regardless of how many people turn up, isn't it?
