I have recently purchased a New Mini Van for my shows. And I want to place a Billboard on my Van. I have done this in the Past with Great Success. I know some of you DO NOT Approve of this method and that is fine. I just want some really GOOD Suggestions for a New Ad on the Van. Here is what I have, please let me know what you think or do you have some Good Suggestions for an ad.

MAGICIAN 5" Letters all CAPS
"Family Fun Entertainment" 3" Letters
Now Booking 5" Letters
Call Now: (810) 966-0552 5" Letters & Numbers
http://www.rodneypalmermagic.com 3" Letters

So it would look like this on the Back of the Van (Window)

MAGICIAN

"Family Fun Entertainment"

Now Booking

Call Now (810)966-0552

http://www.rodneypalmermagic.com

What do you think? Like it? Hate it, What changes should I make or should I leave it like that?

Should do the job, simpler the message and more direct on a car the better. You are talking people seeing it when ur moving for the most part.

My first thought would be that nobody remembers phone numbers they see on vans unless its ..1 800 MAGIC or something like that. You'd be better off with something that in a few seconds of viewing gets your info across. If you lived Orlando then your Van could say something like " Orlando's Family Magician" http://www.orlandomagician.com then maybe have your phone number.

People will remember orlandomagician.com more than 810...96...what was the rest again?

My two cents.(maybe that's all its worth..LOL )

Best,

Tim

I should also add that I would put this on the Van's Small Side Windows as well.

Smaller scale of course, it is a Chrysler T/C Touring Mini Van edition.

Hello Rodney,

You're just an hr away from me here in London.

I'd take it one step further. Have it say Michigan Family Magician and then I'd go pay the $20 a year for a domain that redirects over to your website. Its got to be REALLY easy to remember because people only have a second to read and remember it. I just looked away from your post and I can't remember your website name. If it was MichiganMagic.com I could sure remember that one. It'd also help in google searchs for a michigan magician.

michiganmagic.com is taken so you'd have to find something that gets your message across quickly and is EASY to remember.

Best,

Tim

I agree with Tim. A two word URL address is a lot easier to remember than three words.

Also, I would drop "Now Booking" as it really isn't needed and almost sounds desperate. Instead have an airbrush artist do a nice graphic or picture of you.

Yep...Photius, Tim and Jim said exactly what I was thinking. Drop the "Now Booking" line, keep it simple, as Photius said, and find a real easy domain name to use. They are cheap to acquire and can be set up to redirect to your regular website with ease.

You might be thinking, "Well...it's my name with magic at the end, dot com." While this is true, do you always remember the names of people you meet or are introduced to? I don't. But I could easily remember something like "michiganmagic.com" or similar. Just try to find something that is not taken, can be easily remembered and register it.

Good luck. Mark. Smile

Rodney....

FYI - by placing that information on your van, you could be unknowingly changing the insurance status of the vehicle from a personal vehicle to a commercial vehicle. Check with your insurance agent on this before taking the plunge. Smile

Christopher you hit the hammer on the nail.....
I would suggest getting just the magnets and stick them on your door.... They can always come off when the insurance juster has to inspect your car after a claim....

I prefer the one with a slogan...

MAGICIAN
"Creating Memories That Last A Lifetime"

Call Now (810) 966-0552
http://www.PortHuronMagic.com

But would make it Your Name- magician. Then possibly: "Creating Magical Memories That Last A Lifetime"

If you're going to use that slogan, make sure you are able to include in your price a special photo (Birthday boy/girl as a bunny etc), Tee shirt with photo on it, or SOMETHING that you give them or better yet SEND them a week or so later to remind them of their magical time. Then, about 9 months later, send another photo card souvenir to remind them AGAIN and (if it was a birthday party for instance) suggest they might want to book again this year!

Nicholas-
PortHuron is a place...A city on the East Coast of Michigan.
In fact is is the place I come from.

Rodney- Ditch the slogan.
We are talking about a potentially moving vehicle, or one stopped for a second at a stop light. The more words that are at the top, the less time they have to read the really important stuff- Your contact info.
All they need is who you are, what you do and how to get in contact.
If you have graphics as well, make sure the entire design is examined by a graphic designer or other type of artist. Someone who understands focal points, and the subtle ways that shapes can guide the eye over a decorated surface (Gesture lines). You need to make the whole image draw the eye to the contact information. The purpose of everything you put on is to get them to remember the info.

hmmm I bet many people will pull out their cells phone and phone you at that moment.... I think the call now works best for info commercials and print ads...

I also would use my name for my website! Smile just my thought.....
