Wondering what a good price would be for BOR sales. I had a nice professional photo taken that I'd like to sell--while the photo has unlimited media/promo rights extended, rights to have it printed for other purposes (e.g. resale) are reserved by the photographer.

I'm wondering if it would be cost effective to purchase directly from the photogapher for resale? Any thoughts, especially from folks with personal experience with this type of thing, would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

Photographs (Full Color) with contact information usaully sell for $ 2-3 dollars each. It really depends on where you get your pictures printed. I use a company call ABC Pictures. They are very reasonable, or you could just go with a Postcard Size picture and sell that for a $1.

It would also depend on if you are someone that someone is willing to pay for a photo of. If you sell a photo , the price is going to be according to what you are worth. You will not get what Copperfield gets. So the question is not what is a photo worth , but what is YOUR photo worth. The best answer probably is , that it is worth what ever someone is willing to pay.
THOUGHTfully,

I sell mine for $10 each, signed. Although I've decided it's kind of corny.

I charge $100 each, because some day I'll be famous, and my autographed picture will be very valuable.

Be nice and give them away for nothing. Consider it a marketing exercise.

Yep...I'd give it away and view it as a business card, and the purchase cost a business expense.

At the most, I'd only charge what it cost me to purchase them, but I'd view that as a bit much. Not being disrespectful, I don't need your picture that much. After all, I'm probably standing there with a camera and can just take your picture, with me in it, if I wanted it that bad.

Do yourself a favor. Have a stack of them available with your contact info on them and give them away. The future business you (hopefully) will get back from the advertising will more than pay for the expense.

Mark.

I sell mine for $5.00 and surprisingly sell a lot of them. After a lot of my shows I sell small magic kits and tricks and if they buy any of my other products I throw in a free 8x10. Don't knock selling stuff after shows. I made an extra $10,000 last year doing it.

I sell mine for $1000.00. I figure I only need to sell one per show. It's how I only charge $50 for a show.

Tieing this to a "name" entertainer....I paid $5 for an autographed color photo of the Pendragons in May. The photo was the only item for sale.

I like your idea of throwing in an autographed picture for people who purchase other products, such as magic sets or DVD's. Thanks.

First Class Magician mentioned ABC Pictures--it looks like that company's got some very competitive prices. Thanks.

I sell mine for $1. It is something that is so cheap that anyone can afford it and it acts as a prompt to get them to go to the table. Once there they are more likely to purchase other things for sale.

I like your idea, a buck for a 8X10 color glossy autographed picture of a magician is a reality based answer.

I guess I am odd. (yea I GUESS!)

I put a $5 price on them, but include them when people buy other things. Makes the percieved value of the package far higher.

Instead of what a single pic is worth, think of what it can "seem worth". I never felt anyone really wanted a pic of me as I am not a name of any note at all. Nowhere NEAR a name of note so selling them flat out never made sense to me. BUT as a package, it does help percieved value, and if someone does want one then great.

I think most guys miss this aspect of BOR sales. Think of pitchmen. Ron Popiel. "Wait don't answer yet!". It helps a LOT believe me.

Interesting. Though I think I'd still prefer to give them away.
