I seem to remember someone out there made or makes a solid steel "deck of cards". Does this sound familiar to anyone? I have seen the clear acyrlic ones but I recall a HEAVY metal one.

Tom,
I seem to remember that Kling makes a solid metal card. Unfortunately, they are not of a common back design. |

Thanks for that but I actually mean a BLOCK of steel machined to the size and shape of a full deck of poker cards? Anyone?

Ah, my bad Tom I misunderstood. But that's a cool idea. Would be neat if it looked like a deck of cards as well. Maybe I am totally off here; so pay no attention to that mann behind the curtin.

I found it but the description of the item itself is not clear. Is the steel block just painted, silk screened, etched or a combination of any of those?

This sounds interesting. I'll have to check it out.

I thought, from the ol thread on it, that it was etched etc
Im not 100% though, but I thought this was mentioned Im not sure if there ever was a full review of it, I might try and search it out to see if anyone knows anything specific on this. |

From what I gather by the reviews is that it is made to look like an actual deck, but sadly no one seems to give a direct answer to this.

I just wonder if anyone has one of these? It appears that this was made by Chazpro Magic. I went to their site however there is no mention of it. I wonder if its even made any longer. I did find it on Mak Magic Site in a blue box. But it was just that a piece of steel in a blue box.

I just thought it might be sweet if they were either printed or something.

This is from the description at Hocus Pocus:
"Moby Deck looks just like a real deck of Bicycle, Poker-size playing cards, except it is made from SOLID STEEL, machined with grooves down the sides like a real deck of cards! Each Moby Deck is then hand-painted to look like a real deck, even up close!" Hope that helps. Joe |

Ha ha don't know how I didn't notice... and there we are puzzling over this and it's written right there on the product description.
I even linked to the product page lol |

I have this and it looks just like a real deck of cards.
You could be eight inches away with a magnifying glass and it would still look exact. |

This would be cool with a strong electromagnet under a table!!

Cheers folks...that's it and it seems to be machined with grooves on the edges as well.
Ok...all I need to do is get one from the States or find someone in the UK with one and get myself writing. All things being equal, I may well have an effect coming up using this for the bizarre magic enthusiasts out there. Thanks all.
