Hey Jugglers,

I'm wondering if anyone knows a good idea / method for making a juggling clubs appear, or making them appear one at a time. I'm thinking using some method to introduce the clubs, in the middle of a magic act, prior to juggling. Or does anyone know a method for making them vanish after a juggling routine? Any ideas? Maybe I need to post this in the stage manipulation area, or the secret session area, but I'll start with you "juggler types" first.

I have seen a magician produce several umberellas one at a time from scarves, and I have seen the same method used to produce a bowling pin. I think this would not only be a great magic routine, but a great way to introduce your juggling clubs. I have a friend Danny Hustle who does the bowling pin production I'll ask him.

Is the bowling pin used in the production as heavy as a juggling club?

I think it might be possible to produce one club from under a large silk, maybe steal it off your back (from under a vest), with some misdirection. It would require some skills, of course. A second club could be produced using a custom Allakazam Hat, from Mark Wilson's Complete Course In Magic. This uses the circle in square method if that helps anyone. It would have to be a tall (about 20") custom device. A lot of work. Maybe someone has an idea that takes less skill and less carpentry?

I have produced a single Dube club out of a topit before (like a bottle production) but this has to be an opener. What about stealing it from behind a table (under a silk)? Just a couple ideas...

The bowling pin is solid maple, and after he produces it he drops it on the floor to demonstrate that it is real.

Go to youtube the trick is called the bottle production. It appears to require a reset, so you probibly will only be able to produce one club. If you buy it, and use it thank Danny Hustle.

I just purchased the "Kozak bottle production" from Denny & Lee's magic shop in Baltimore. I have been shopping around, and there is a cheap version the Juan Carlos that uses a body load (jacket required) for about $25. The Kozak version is self contained (no jacket required), and will allow you to load a 20" juggling club in with the silks. Other dealers have it for over $200, but Denny Haines is selling it for $75. There is a demo of the Kozak version up on youtube.
good luck

This is one beautiful trick, and well worth Denny's discount price. You don't have to, but I will take it to the seamstress for a minor adjustment so that the gimmick will better accommidate a juggling club. If you want to you could do multiple productions, because it is so easily reloaded. In short the club production is my newest trick, and a great cross over trick combining magic and juggling at the same time.

Thanks Al,

It's on my "I want it" list. I hope to get it next month. I have to spread out the fun for bugetary reasons. I hope the sale price will still be available. Once I get it, I'll talk to you about the modifications that you are referring to. Thanks...

The modifications are obvious, but the most important thing is that you buy the Kozack version. A very well made, last a life time trick that can handle a 20" juggling club.

On a side note....scour the internet or beg, borrow or steal a copy of Topper Martin's juggling act for his take on magic and juggling. A classic.

Okay - I did it. I just got the "Productions From Silks" effect. Thanks for the guidance. Now I will do the necessary modifications and make a juggling club appear!

Thanks Al & everyone...

I have been working on this trick in front of my mirror since Sept 12th, and I finally got it.
I'm going to start this routine by only finding two clubs, and doing a 2 minute club swinging routine then stop, apologize for only having two clubs, and do the club production to find the third club.
Because the club is 20" long the moves must be done very deliberately. I'm performing it at our local jugglers workshop soon, and the other jugglers will let me know how good my production is.

Good luck Tony keep in touch, and let me know how the club production works for you.
