I need a way to make something fall in slow motion off a table when bumped. Any ideas of what can be used? For example, a cup is bumped and slowly falls to the floor.

Black art with an assistant.
Thread with a clutch mechanism. Zombie gimmick with a lot of acting.

Does it have to be magical (ie-no one knows how its done) or just funny (re-method is obvious to everyone).

I used to have a bit where something fell out of a tube and after a second or two it jumped up off the floor and back into the tube. I just had a heavy black thread on a big reel. If they saw the thread it didn't matter... it was the surprise of the gag that mattered.

I'm with Edd. This would still be funny (depending on the gag) if it happened and the audience could see how it was happening (i.e. long black stick attached to the cup). They would still get it.
