Chris is a very likeable chap, and a very creative magician!
so I jumped at the chance of picking up his lecture notes.... inside are 10 effects described and explained starting with chris' version of 3 fly this uses a gimmick, but chris has a very strong visual routine here, with the coins appearing, jumping from hand to hand, vanishing and re appearing! chris has come up with some very visual moments in this routine, and at what may often be a weak point, he has turned around completly! bill switch to purse: using a purse in the effect gives it a slight twist on the normal bill change routines resetting itself makes it ideal for table hopping, if you can do a bill switch you can do this! card jazz: what starts out as an ambitous card routine, turns into a very visual peice of card magic with the card dissapearing, re appearing and jumping all over the place you can see how chris has tweaked this over hundreds of performances is is very fast paced and will keep the speactators hooked right up to the bold deck vanish which leaves them fried!!!!!!! cards to pocket: four signed aces are slowly vanished one by one in a number of different ways which are then taken out of the magicians pockets by the himself and the spectator a nice suprise finish for the last ace too! very commercial strong magic copper silver brass routine: only this time we start AND end clean, with no dodgy purses either! a fast easy to follow, not too long routine using the standard gimmick ice coins: this is worth the price of the notes, and dvd together if you buy the lot! as you will know, you will need the extra somethings for this great finish to any coin routine, but these can be easily bought from chris and alakazam.co.uk there are many threads and posts on the effect alone I wont say any more about this routine, other than buy it, learn it, and PERFORM it yourself! knife transposition routine: this again ends clean! I don't have the required knives, but its another nice, well developed routine no palm card to pocket: a very cheaky little routine, giving you all the time itn the world to get that card into your pocket could be used a nice finish to most "pick a card" routines... resetting again, ideal for strolling etc pick pocket: this I like! another solid method for cards transposing only this is from the card box, inside the specators pocket!! don't over look this one, try it.... it plays very well, with pleanty of room for some patter and fun etc.. two card transpo: a short quick visual swap of two cards, using an original colour change move a nice quick routine that "does what it says on the tin" the highlights for me personally are:card jazz, CSB, ice coins, and the pick pocket routine I'm sure there is something for everyone here if you get chance , then get chris to lecture at your club and get to see this all done live plus you'll have the pleasure of meeting him! chris has tweaked a lot of magic here for use in "the real world", a phrase used a lot these days I know, but chris has used these routines himself, as a good, busy, proffesional magician sorry for any spelling errors, but it is getting late now and I must go and practise that 3 fly routine! get them direct from chris here http://www.christophercongreave.co.uk thanks very much chris |
