Add some tribbles and they'd have a movie.

The first Alien film is one of my all time favourites. A classic dark house Gothic horror set in outer space. All the ill thought out sequels reduced a brilliant concept to mindless shoot-em-up. Mostly interchangeable. All quite forgettable.
This one looks like a simple excuse for mindless carnage and excessive splatter which in and of itself isn't a bad if you like that sort of thing. I just hate to see a classic horror movie character reduced to a simple plot device.

Do they meet Jason or Freddy or maybe the big bad wolf in the forest? Does Santa come along and kick them both back into their ships?

Which is why it worked so well. When I saw this in the theatre when it was first released the tension in the audience was like nothing I'd seen before or since. Everyone was on the edged of their seats. It was a truly frightening film. all the rest of the franchise have been action films leaving the horror far, far behind.
I've always hated that they made the creatures into an alien species instead of the biological weapon system it was originally conceived to be. I also never really got into the whole predator franchise either as the first movie I found rather silly (can we say "The Most Dangerous Game")and the second mostly unwatchable.
I'll watch this thing when it comes on cable but won't waste my money by seeing it the theatre,

Yes, I'm anxiously awaiting this as well. Hopefully they won't screw it up as it is my all time favorite musical.

Payne...Way back when, I was visiting Tulsa for a conference and 'Alien' was playing 1st run so I gathered gumption and went...what a hoot! It was mostly an all black audience ('cept for me)...let me say it took that movie into the 4th dimention...between half the audience talking to the screen giving the actors 'direction', "No you ain't goin in there!" and the other half reacting like it was lifes last gasp, I was between laughing and jumping out of my skin most of the way. Only had as much fun in a theater recently when I took rubber snakes to see Snakes On A Plane with a rowdy 1st night crowd of kids. (Usually I prefer silence)

I have the new set of Alien DVDs with different versions of each fiklm but haven't watched the alternate direcors cuts yet. I usually like the originals so I haven't ventured there yet.

I'm excited.
Yes...The original alien was the best, no question.
But I do so love the carnage. I wouldn't consider any of the Alien movies past the first to be horror (None of the Predator were ever horror), but it is decent sci fi/action. Really I feel that the Alien movies just changed genre.
Predator was always silly though.
If you haven't seen this yet...You should.
Yes...It's Batman. It is all related.

When I saw the first Alien, one of my older brothers left the theater. Soon after, my uncle went "to check on him". Shortly after, my oldest brother went to check on the other two. I watched the rest of the movie by myself. I love that stuff.

So we've got this, Sweeney Todd and some more horrific goodies coming out for the holiday season. Christmas is going to the gothic.

Gothic?

Gory and perhaps violent but still a good excuse to get out of the house...

How about a Sweeney Todd vs. Predator movie?
Alien vs. Mrs. Loveit?

The Best Pies in London each come with it's own Face Hugger inside.
