Hello.
I live in Australia and am looking at buying some magic dvd's etc.
I am wondering what online stores are trusted and well known.

I know of two.

PenguinMagic - Seems to be one which is.
Ellusionist - Pretty quick and reliable shipping

Anyone else got some trusted.

US magic shops only.
Thanks

MJM is excellent and Penguin has gotten better over the last few months.

Madhatter usually has the best prices. Service is good also.

I hear good things about Bill Groome and http://www.MadhatterMagicShop.com

I avoid shops with their phoney weekly "20% discounts" and then they hit you hard on shipping. In fact, you don't even know the shipping is when you check out. They don't give you a total. You find it out later.

NEVER shop online with a shop that doesn't tell you it's shipping pricea/policy. I don't mind paying for shipping, but I want to know what it is.

Don't go to http://www.Theastonishmentproject.com if you want to have a reasonable shippingrate.

Madhatter is even worse.

I think they put your stuff in a gold plated box or so.

The gold plated boxes were supposed to be a surprise...

Our shipping rates are based on weight via the post office so not really sure what you're referring to...

Hi Jason,

I'm referring to your own website. Just take a small item and go to the check-out-procedure. You'll see that the cheapest shipment is $12. There are others tat will do it for much less.
Maybe the shipment will be in the end lower due to the real weight of thee package, but when I place an order I want to know what I have to pay at that moment.

H&R books is one of the few places in magic that you can trust.

I can't vouch for the places you mentioned.

Mr. Townsend is 100% correct about H&R. I've also had great delivery of products and quick response to customer service questions from Circle City Magic,Lybrary & Hermetic Press.

Magicwarehouse.com has reasonable shipping rates and you can see the rate as soon as you add the items to your cart. You don't have to enter any personal information to see the shipping fee even if you are outside the U.S.

Hank Lee is the best in terms of variety and pricing. Hocus Pocus can also be good and has estate sale and "one-of-a-kind" items you won't get elsewhere. For cheaper postage and better service MJM is the best site, and The Wonder Wearhouse also offers great shipping and has some good deals on used items. Daytona Magic has the best prices on wooden production boxes and other items they produce via quarterly sales.

http://www.Magicianslair.com is excellent. Prices are always below retail, even with shipping cost. Sends items within 2 days. Same guy also has a magic auction site where you can sell your "drawer tricks" with NO FEES. Can't beat that.
http://www.bid-on-magic.com You can contact the owner of both sites (Eddy) directly at koolmagic114@aol.com
