Ok I already have some gaffs in Kennedy 64s from todd but I want to switch to try out some Dollar sized gaffs. I saw that they sell Johnson silver morgan shells that are not as expensive as Todd and would be good to try out before I upgrade to Todds. Are they very good quality?

I bought one some time ago but I do not think it was Johnson. The gaff is good enough but it does not cover the coin as well as I would like. Also there is some flattening on the face. Bottom line is that it does the job and for a bit less than you could get one of the others.

I have some of this silver gaff (walking liberty shell and flipper etc...) they are Johnson. I'm really happy with these.
I don't know for the morgan size one. The simple way is to ask the magic warhouse to know. |

I have Johnson ['s in 64 Kennedy and Walking Liberty, both are of very good quality. The Johnson morgans I've seen were made from "harder" coins so IF you're looking to match up to well worn coins it may be an issue. I don't believe Johnson makes a lot of Silver.

I can't tall on the peace dollars but I can see a morgan [ froma mile away because of the sheen.. Best. Shawn.

Hi,
Before they sold out I bought a Peace Dollar (very good), Two Morgans (loose fitting - one I converted to a half shell - the other I softened and it fits over the Schoolcraft Dean's Set) and two Kennedy 64's (very good). All were Johnson products and silver. Had no problem with quality and the Peace Dollar/Kennedy's were an excellent fit for all my other coins. The Morgan's (I think due to the different sizes in manufacture) were a bit loose but value for money was excellent. I bought these to "play" with while waiting for my Schoolcraft set - and still use them for hard surfaces (lest I damage my expensive coins). Hope that helps. Kyf

How is the edge of the Silver Walkers C/S/B set in magicwarehouse? Anyone bought them before? I have a customised set of C/S/B from Auke but I did not like the edge of the gimmick coin is too thick.

Since you are planning to upgrade anyway, save your money and apply it to the better gaffus. If you take care of it, it will serve you better, and save you money in the long run.
On the other hand, if you are just experimenting to see if dollar size coins will work for your routines/technique, I would just get some Morgans (Ikes if you are on a budget) and try routines that do not need gaffs- you will know pretty quickly if you want to take the plunge. |

The Lassen/Schoolcraft W/L shells are a little deeper and the fit is a little better.

The WL ] I got from Johnson had a nice patina and I was lucky enough to get to look through about a doz. and get the best match for my coins. Now that it has been in a purse w/ my coins for awhile it's hard to tell the difference, I'm pleased with the purchase!

I have two liberty shells from Johnson for sale for $35.00 each 1 head and 1 tails used but great condition. And the magic warehouse isn't selling Johnson silver any more due to the no discounts on silver products from Johnson.
