I gotta tell you I've seen Josh Jay's Pouch, Terry Elton Assistant, and various other hip pouches. However, I found a small Husky Brand hip pouch that is wonderful. It comes with a belt clip, belt loop, carabiner clip for however you want to attach it to your side. The it has a mesh elastic front, elastic sides that I modified to carry coins. Then inside I have a deck of cards, packet tricks, pens, dice, dental floss, thumb tip and a few more goodies. I love mine. And the best part is it only cost $6 on sale. It was made for tools and therefore rugged and durable. I like it so much I bought more for my kids and their tricks and then I bought a bigger tool case by Husky to haul around my bigger props when not doing strolling.
Has anyone else used Home Depot/tool bags? I thought I would offer this up. |

I tried using a modifed nail pouch (orange suede - yech!) and it had some nice qualities. Two pouches, big enough for several final loads for cups and balls and room for other props, but since I got my Pouch from Frank Starsini, I have not tried any others. I am always interested in these things though. I have so many bags and purses and pouches, my wife thinks I am nuts.
Can you give a link to this product? I looked at the web site but did not see it.

I cannot seem to find good pouches from my side of the world.
The Husky Brand hip pouch sounds interesting. Any pics to take a peek? Thanks! |

Is that a jumbo card or regular poker size card, Mike?
Thanks for the link too, Jonathan. |

Thanks for a new source for other pouches Mike.
I use a drill holster for appearing bottle vest similar to David Stone's. I also use 4 other pouches that normally hold things like digital camera's, G.P.S., and MP3 players. I guess I am a bit of a pouch nut. Marsupial in nature. Eric |

At least the black/red is better than the orange one that I found! It's good that these things are cheap.
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/photos/......4120.gif This is similar to what I was experimenting with. I ripped all the extra loops and pockets off. The one I had also had a center pouch that fit a couple decks of cards and the bigger pouches were large enough for lots of tennis balls as final loads. I liked the layout but not the color

Hi, The card is a regular poker sized playing card to show the size. I love finding things that work great for magic but didn't get in a magic shop!

For a true magicians pouch, drop by The Ambitious Card and look at their small black leather pouch.
The problem with many of the pouches mentioned is the various colors of yellow, orange and red piping. They are also inclined to be either too small, or wAY too big. None of them really look appropriate with a suit jacket, especially if you take said jacket off at any point. That colored piping or "Husky" tag on the pouch makes (IMHO) it look a little out of place to put it mildly. Frank at Ambitious has worked up a black leather pouch that can easily hold 45 minutes or more. It's a VERY flat sewn rig of high quality leather with multiple pockets including two specifically for coins (which I use for Joe Porpers poker chip effects). I have a shelf full of pouches I've bought and found lacking. Frank's pouch from Ambitious Card is the best of the bunch, and worth a look for any serious user. |

When I 1st started busking, I used to use a Gibicere I made from two leather nail bags that I tore open the seams and then stitched together with leather thong I then dyed the bags dark brown 'cuz that weird standard orange/tan color is gross. It was strong enough and it worked OK...
Eventually I just switched to one of Frank Starsini's amazing pouches and have not looked back. What I described is probably much like Hypnodream mentioned, but I cut the 2 bags open to make one big pocket.
