This looks like the same coins used in CFWM from the demo. Anybody have these yet that can confirm. They definitely look like S***ing S**lls to me.

It's selling on Ebay for $125.00! If this is not a knock off that is just an insane price for the coins. I wonder who made them and what kind of quality.

I actually saw a set of these in a shop the ther day. The coins are indeed the same coins as U3F - well I say coins - they are not real dollars. They are fake plasticy type coins designed to look like dollars. If I remember right they feel and suond terrible and have something like "copy" written on the coin instead of dollar. Using these instead f soft morgans would be like doing card magic with a cheap pack of cards off the market instead of bikes.

They're not even real coins!? What is this company coming to? No wonder it's only $125.00 on Ebay. Geez.

Craig,
Many thanks for the 'rest of the story! Here in the hinterlands, away from real shops, I wouldn't be privy to such information except for Café connections. And I got the inside info here as soon as I got the unsolicited email advertisements!

Having debated with myself about buying the Kohler/ Wayne Vegas Coins (getting careless with that noun) until they were ‘out of stock,’ and being excited now about shells, I was more than usually vulnerable to the ‘Illusion Coins’ advertisement. Thankfully I checked here before succumbing to the temptation or wasting time considering these ‘coins.’

Wow, that is an all time low for Magic Makers, like their reputation wasn't bad enough already.

Not only do they offer a horrible performance of the routine, but plastic coins???

Given the nature of the locking feature, I cannot imagine fake coins lasting very long.

Ripped off routine, fake coins, and false advertisement (the advertising pictures look like real Morgans). I guess they have no consideration at all for their reputation.

Dan,

How can you even use the phrase "no consideration for their reputation" when speaking of Magic Takers. Rob Stiff is the magical equivalent of Satan and apparently Ben Salinas has been drawn into the underworld by him. I used to have respect for Ben, but when you sleep with pigs you start to smell like one too. Stiff is a malignant tumor on the butt of magic. Next time I see you, I will be happy to tell you how I really feel about him, without pulling punches Smile

The demo is by Ben Salinas. Isn't he Rob Stiff's nephew?

I'm pretty interested in hearing your thoughts Marc. Just watch out. I criticized them before on the forums and they actually went out to damage my reputation. I'm not criticizing them anymore out of fear of "legal actions based on defamation of character and slander." Not really worried about it, but it's been put out that they're not against attempting it. Also, they do search these forums, so hopefully you'll hear back from them.
Yes, that is my real name. Yes, I am a real person. No, you probably won't agree with me.

Jeff:

Slander is a false defamation (expressed in spoken words, signs, or gestures) which injures the character or reputation of the person defamed; distinguished from libel.

According to the Law, you still have the right to free speech as long as its true.

The beauty of Bob Kohler's U3F was his brilliant routining. The Salinas rotuine is quite poor. He's taken "some" of Bob's routine and made his own bad version.

You know....Magic Maker's will never listen to you. But...brick and mortar and online shops will. If enough people tell them they will not shop with them if they Carry Magic Makers products, they will have to make a choice.

Just complaining ehre will not make any difference. They will not listen to one person or two. A shop that gets 100 customers telling them they will not shop with them will have to listen.

If you all do this, you will see Magic Makers vanish from shops.

Interesting, at the end of the routine, placing the first coin into an empty hand makes a loud Clink? Hmmmm... Bad.

Charging a high price for a lousy product simply adds insult to injury. It shouldn't matter whether MM had made these rip-offs with crappy plastic coins or top-quality coins. A rip-off is a rip-off. Too many people turn a blind eye when a rip-off is well-made: there's plenty of that going on too but it seems to be selectively ignored.

So its $2 worth of plastic coins for $125 ??

The situation here is that a good pro will never buy that c*ap, while hobbyist and other punters might not be able to afford them.

Mr MM has a brain like his 2nd name.

Had to click on the link just to see if the vid was really that bad. Uh, it was. The routine and handling were horrible. I can't believe they even throw in the "easy to do for the beginner" line on the website. Now I'm actually angry.
