When I spoke to Greg Wilson about them he was furious! This was when the Reserve DVD was released, with an addition which was identical to Greg's. But he said there was nothing he could do. He could fight, call them every name under the sun, but he can't do anything legally. Stiff will only release an item he knows he can get away with releasing and not getting done by.
He will either Rob you or Stiff you guys! |

IMHO, Magic Makers has made it almost impossible for local magic shops to carry only top quality products as Magic Makers builds in a lot of profit. Profit, is the driving force and that is the big thing. Until we decide that we are threw with products made in China, India and other third world countries, I would look for this trend to continue. Knocking off everyones products... Isn't just Magic Makers, its a whole slew of companies. Please no hate mail...this is just my oppinion.

So now we know the score: nothing illegal is being done. Magic is no longer a few tried and true Magcicians contributing to the art. It's a rough and tough business where anything goes.
Chrildren, welcome to the real world. Hey, it was a little sheltered community for thousands of years. It was a good run. I'm sure the Mob didn't like losing Las Vegas to the corporate giants!

Going to be very difficult to find a dealer that doesn't carry Magic Maker Products. Maybe there should be a list of dealers that refuse to carry their products so that we may all know who they might be. Fortunately the corporate giants didn't build the Luxor out of cheap plastic, just off the back of cheap plastic.

Be Amazing Magic Shop in Columbus,Ohio has morals and good ethics.
Your right it is going to be hard. But I have taken a step towrds "preaching the gospel truth" I will not do a lecture for any shop that carries magic makers rip-off's. I know I will get a lot of flack for that but my mind being right before God is more important to me than a few hundred dollars. Justin N. Miller |

You can add Elmwood Magic at http://www.elmwoodmagic.com to the list of reputable stores that do their very best to avoid stocking anything from Magic Makers. Paul and crew have always been my first and only recommendation to supply people with top quality products and excellent service. I am sure if you are looking for a place to pickup your next effect they will treat you right.

If I were keeping score on trusted Magic Shops that don't carry Magic Maker Products at all, It might look something like this...
Denny Magic Be Amazing Magic Shop Elmwood Magic That seems to be the score so far. Theguy26, there isn't any Magic Magazine that is going to write a detremental article about them. Magic Makers makes up a lot of their advertising budgets and the legalities that would be involved would be unreal. Face it Magic Shops need companies like Magic Makers, Mak Magic, and many others to help them show a profit. Most aren't going to care about the rights of others when it comes to the success or failure of their business and showing a profit. Just MHO. |
