I just got them yesterday and have watched the first two. There is some excellent material on those two discs. (If all I get out of this whole set is Forte's No Look Aces, it was money well spent.)
I also liked the ace thing with all the passes and color changes. (Can't remember the name of it, just now.) He also displayed some excellent routining on the poker deal, and the Chicago Opener. In an of itself, those are nice lessons in how to make classics your own. I can't wait to watch the third disc and then to start digging into the set in earnest.

Bill Malone is such an establish pro and a real worker. Watching On the Loose there is more to learn from him than just routines. I will be getting these for the same reason.

I think they are another fantastic set by Bill, and in my opinion, there is one effect which is worth the price of all THREE Dvds!!!! And that is Rub-a-dub-dub/Cups and Balls...in my opinion, one of the GREATEST versions I have EVER seen!!! And I have seen a lot!!! Out of EVERYTHING on these 3 DVDs, this is the one effect I want to get down and master!

Hey, just received and watched the performance of the first DVD. I'd like to start by saying I think it's an excellent dvd. It's taken some criticism for not being as good, or for lacking the same energy as the original set.
Personally, I think the effects are almost every bit as good as the first set, but perhaps lack individual cohesion, which I think was largely a performance problem. Let me explain. I think the criticism regarding the audience is off target. Bill as stated on other posts, is clearly nervous, and I found the nerves were clearly conveyed to me watching the performance, and when the camera zooms on his occasionally shaking hands I felt for him. This detracted from the enjoyment, and perhaps his anxiety was also conveyed to the audience. Perhaps as a consequence of this anxiety, I felt the Bill rushed through some of the presentational aspects, and the whole performance seemed slightly rushed and fast paced, a bit like he just wanted to race through it as quickly as possible, and I think this may have affected the audience. It's particularly noticeable with Bill's speaking, with the dramatic pauses perhaps a second shorted than on the previous dvds and sounding like he needed to pause for a breath or two in certain places. I still think the dvd was fantastic, as well as his performance, but it just seemed to lack the composure of the previous set, which affected my enjoyment as a piece of entertainment. |

So I just like to qualify my post by saying that may not apply to the other 3 dvds. I just watched jack in a box. In which I think Bill is back to his calm composed presentational best. I'm not sure whether it was filmed on the same day or perhaps he'd had a chance to talk to everyone, but he just seems a lot more at ease and the result is instantly noticeable.

L&L is selling for 34.95 each and Madhatter for 24.95; are they going to match it?

I purchased volume 1 from Madhatter, I received the usual excellent service from Bill and Angie, and really enjoyed all of the material on the DVD. I purchased it solely for his Cards from Mouth (which is located after the end credits) and ended up loving all of the routines. As Bill states there isn't any NEW effects, but there are great handlings of these classic routines. I have not seen the other two volumes yet, but will be purchasing them soon just because Vol 1 was so good.
Bill is a master entertainer.

I can't do the poster. But I will throw in REEL MAGIC VOL.2 (DVD) for every Café member for FREE. Just request it in the comment section at checkout. It's hard when the manufacturer that wholesales you their product cuts your throat in the process. Because of this we are more than happy to offer you the best deal.

I love Bill, Malone, but the poster won't help your magic. Reel Magic Quarterly however will!

It's common place for a manufacturer to also retail their products, and compete with retailers. Customers buying L&L products support each product differently. Some do not want to buy from L&L and prefer to support the artist and buy directly from them. Others want to support L&L directly and there are those who want to support their local magic shop or favorite online dealer. If you have a problem with L&L I would recommend you deal with it privately and directly and not in a public forum. |

I think that this is an outstanding set, although I agree with those who have previously posted and believe that the material and/or the DVDs are not quite as good as On The Loose. This is not a knock on Here I Go Again, as I think that On The Loose is pretty much as good as a DVD set gets. Furthermore, as the material in Here I Go Again isn't new, it would be odd if it were as good on balance as the material on On The Loose; presumably, Bill chose (at least mostly) his very best material for his first video set. His material is both good enough and deep enough to fill six very, very good DVDs (this set and the previous one).
Regarding the specific effects, I particularly liked (and would/will use): - the color changing deck routine - the all backs routine - the Miracle Ace Cutting routine I liked the cups and balls quite a bit, as well, in Bill's hands; however, it wouldn't fit my style. For me, the effects I've listed are simply "The best of the best," and in just singling out a few, I don't mean to imply anything negative about the rest of the DVD set. It really is "all good." I was very much looking forward to seeing Bill's second set, and I wasn't in the least disappointed. I can't imagine that anyone would be unhappy with this DVDs.

Steve I disagree. Not everyone does it, far from it. I've given my opinion about L&L and I'll leave it at that.
I will say that the products you put out are usually of very good content and quality. The Bill Malone's are some of the best. |
