Hello,
I am new to the Café and from what I've seen from reading through it, this is a great place with great people. I hope to learn a lot from everyone. I've been doing magic for about 1 year now and am thoroughly addicted. I'm curently a UMASS-Amherst student, if anyone else is in the area feel free to contact me via e-mail or my myspace link in my profile. -Vinny |

Thanks Jim,
I didn't mention earlier, but my magical interests are vast, but I love the classics. Sponge balls, cups and balls, multiplying balls (I made a set with ping pong balls thanks to the cleverness of Alan Wakeling), card magic, thumb tip routines, and so on. Another item I have been dabbling with is my Wizard PK ring (G2). However one issue I have had is that my real wedding band is titanium and therefore not as shiny as the PK ring, so a few people have said, "hey, did you get a new ring?" although they never managed to put two and two together. |

Thanks Kyle,
Hey, I noticed you play the drums, I do too. I've been playing for about 14 years. Played for 7 years in a professional wedding band called Illusions Music as well as an originals punk band for 11 years called The Etcetera. In March of '06 I was lucky enough to be in the New Blood article of DRUM! Magazine. If you go to my myspace page via my profile, in the pictures section I posted the article (If you are interested) Sorry to brag, I'm just very proud of my accomplishment. Great to meet all of you!! -Vinny |

Hi Vinny,
Yeah, I have played drums and percussion since I was in 5th grade. I am now 37. I love doingit but do not get to play as much as I would like to. I still enjoy doing it though. You certainly sound like you have been playing a lot longer then I have. =) Congrats on that. for me, I was just in every band I could get into. lol. That was marching band, concert band, parade band, drum line and my favorite jazz band. Then of course there was the bands I played in over the years that never really went anywhere. but through it all, it was still plain old fun. Nothing wrong with being proud my friend. Nothing at all. In fact I am very proud of several things: - I am the youngest magician to ever win the Charles Hopkin's award for magicla excellence. given to me by the second largest SAM assembly in the world for my dedication to advancing the art of magic through our youth. that one award means more then all the stage contest awards I have ever won because it was given for something I truely believe in. I have been an SYM leader and mentor for years now and would not give that up for the world. I love teaching and helping magicians get to where they want to go and advancing our artform. - I am also proud to be an artist, graphic designer and illustrator. I get to use my artistic talents every day and get paid to do so. That to me is a blessing and I am very grateful for it. I do a lot of graphic design work for other magicians and it is a lot of fun working with my fellow magicians on new logo designs, business cards, posters and the like. I get to create something as unique to them as the magic that they present. So there is nothing wrong with being proud of ones accomplishments Vinny. Welcome aboard my friend. You will love it here. Please do not feel intimidated. The idea of why this place is so great is the notion that we can and should help each other out. We can ask a question and get answers and assistance. I am always there to give help or advice to anyone seeking it. Kyle
