For a halloween party at our apartment complex my daughter has volunteered me for ballon lessons for kids. Please any idea for a simple Halloween balloon sculpture for kids to learn to tie. A single balloon sculpture would be the best. Suggestions please.

An orange BEE BODY balloon makes a GREAT mini-pumpkin with stem, then they can decorate the pumpkin's face!
Directions Blow the bee body only about 1/2 full, tie it off. Push the nozzle end into the opposite side of the balloon (where the stem is) and apple twist it. Tuck the excess stem into the balloon and turn it all upside down, then decorate. Easy to do & learn. Also, with 260's, a rattlenake or a black cat could be easy one-balloon structures. Good luck! |

Thanks Ashley for the good ideas. What is the fish sculpture that I have read some where in ballooning 101 somewhere?

3 balloons
1 clear 260 1 wht. 260 1 5" wht. round (or printed ghost heads) inflate the clear 260 all the way,(burp) and twist around the head to make a hat. leave the end sticking up. inflate the wht. 260 all the way but leave it soft. find the center and twist in two. then spiral them together for about 1/2 way and twist them together. 2" fold twist on the ends make the hands. inflate 5" round and tie it to the twist at the arms then ad this to the top of the hat. get out the sharpie and have fun. teaching kids you may be better of with dry erase markers.

Check out the current and archived columns on http://www.balloonhq.com. There is a pirate hat with skull that is really easy and quick to do. I tried it out this morning and can put one together in less than a minute! Be sure to check the archives!

Multiple balloon creations are quite often easier than single balloon ones.
The qualatex hallowe'en heads (I think they come in a mixed bag now too);vampire, skulls and pumpkins can be added to simple one balloon bodies for very simple but effective designs, check out Ralph Dewey's ghost hat in the balloonhq archives. Dave Bartlett has a one balloon ghost in one of the balloon magic magazines. The super simple (but always popular) flying mouse design could be turned into 'flying vampire mice of doom' with a couple of pen strokes. George |

Easiest halloween balloons out there are using the qualatex halloween heads.
You start with a simple helmet type hat, take a second ballon and connect it to the center and spiral twist it leaving 5 or 6 inches on each end. These will be the arms. Then tie on the halloween head of your choice at the top. Quick, simple and easy. |

Fully inflate a 260 less two inches. Make three X 3" fold twists, and then half way down the remainder, make a Z fold for two more folds.
With this as the base, use a 5" R orange as a pumpkin wand, a 5" alien head as an alien wand, 5" R white as a ghost head. And on Valentine's Day, a 5" heart for a heart wand. And how about a Noble Prize for the fella who came up with the clickable Sharpie? Tom |
