Seems to be that the site is having some problems logging in. Pastor Clyde also has some Information on a Rope Escape but be careful of what you buy you might get double information.
Posted: Oct 16, 2007 6:08pm It might be a interesting DVD to get a hold of Over a Hour Long and they Discuss Evreything. from what kind of Rope to use etc. I'm just not sure about being allowed 15 minutes of stage time. unless if your giving a show on your own. This post has not been Grammarized |

There are three performances and four segments of lessons including commentary. Part of the performance(s) involves creating an atmosphere of a puzzle. A good way to show that is to show it in action. Our previous Strait Jacket DVD was 75 minutes long because, that was how long it took to show. This DVD is longer because there is more information to show. I promise, the time will fly by and you'll probably watch certain aspects numerous times.
You don't need to stand onstage for 15 minutes every time. You could take 6 minutes or even less, it's up to you. There are two people on the DVD showing different versions of the tie. Just pick and choose the elements you like. There is enough information that, even if you know the rope tie, you will learn something new. Thank you. Jay Leslie P.S. If you ever experince problems loging onto our website please contact me directly so we can fix it. You may be having problems with someone elses web site as this DVD is being offered by a hundred different stores. Ours is houseofenchantment. Thank you again to all my brothers in escapology and those that want to learn it.

On the rope: Use rope that is thick enough for stage work. After watching the DVD all you virtually need to do is, go to the hardeware store, buy some rope and start advertising or add the escape to your existing show. The opertunity of someone from the audience winning money is a great draw and boosts attendance.

Cannons also Sells Rope that is supposed to work with it and so that you don't have to go to the Hardware Store and buy the Rope. Dave I'm sure you can buy from Cannons and they can ship it to you. or I beleive Roslyn might be interested in carrying Jays Producy but that's up to Roslyn to decide.

This is why I'm on the Café. I do not know of Roslyn as I don't get out much. I'm assuming this is a dealer in the UK? Or am I just missing it?

Jay your Correct Roslyn is a Dealer in the UK. and he is also a Escape Artist. Jay I'll like to ask this what is the thickness of the rope that you would suggest using.

Hi oooOO
You can use anything from clothsline to 16mm climbing rope. I prefer one half inch poly strand that's woven and looks like cotton - but not cotton because the knots become too tight. let me explain why I don't like tight knots for a, not to obvious reason. When you are packing and need to recoil the rope the knots take time to undo. It has nothing to do with the escape but in getting a move on it. Additionally, I have each prop weighed (for the illusion show) a minuature of same (so I see how they fit in the truck and/or trailer ( I have a miniature of those as well). When you're trucking stuff all over the place, every pound adds up in gas milage and in wear and tear packing and unpacking And in balancing the load &&& if I ask someone else to carry something I can tell them how much it weighs before they lift it. My back is too bad to lift anything heavy. You wouldn't believe it but the reason the Red show and the Blue show have the illusions they do is because that perticular combination fits nicely in the trailer.
