Does anyone use monkey fist balls in their routine? make your own or buy them? pros and cons? I just think they look different and great if on the streets.

I think our very own Frank is making them now? Am I correct, Frank?
If so, he would be your man, over at http://www.theambitiouscard.com/ I know he carries them for sure. RevJohn |

I'm working on some "Turkshead" knot balls at the moment and as my old cowboy braiding skills come back to me I may attempt some fancier knots. Monkey fists are cool especially 4 strand type!

It is really satisfying to create work of art and be able to use them in your own routine.
DJ, give it your best shot and you'll use them for your routines all the time. |

I stopped using monkeyfist because of leather but with the new material I'm back to using monkeyfist balls. They glisten, they don't get stuck between cups like the leather ones ,etc. They also come in a set of 5... One of 'em chopped. Check 'em out! I just sent out my monthly newsletter that spoke about these as well.

Those are very nice monkey fist balls, Frank. And I believe the glitter will even look outstanding when viewing them in our hands.

I love my leather monkeyfist balls, but their "tacky" texture is problematic---they "stick"! Those new balls at The Ambitious Card look like just the ticket! I'll be ordering a set.

They are a very striking ball, they don't have bounce, and don't roll. They are easier to keep clean than a leather ball with a pretty good weight. They do not have the tackiness of leather, but they still grip nice.
I find the 1.25" are the best for me. The type of cord makes the number of wraps higher, but also the number of wraps makes them glitter more (I think). They are nice balls. Of course I believe Frank sells a lot of good stuff. The 2 Poachers Pouches I got from him are my favorite magic possessions. I always gotta throw that in, just because I love them. And the Flip video I just got is sweet.
Magic is doing improbable things with odd items that, under normal circumstances, would be unnessecary and quite often undesirable.

So, it looks like Frank and Josh like the new monkey fist balls from The Ambitious Card. Anyone else have any comments on how these balls handle? They look good in pictures.

Frank, any chance you can make a set that isn't bright or flashy/sparkles... I know this seems to be the complete opposite of what the balls need to be... but my routine is kinda "gutter" looking. that's why I went with worn brown leather even though they aren't great.

Yes. there are a lot of options for custom colors and materials. Black, etc.
Josh is the wonderman so you can ask him via PM for details.

I just got my first set of monkey fist balls, they are really nice, handle well, and look great. Sparkly and highly visible, the chopped ball works very well in the Mikame Super cup, which comes with rather ordinary, loose crochet balls. Makes a huge improvement for that prop.
