Canal Street runs through Chinatown, but Chinatown is more than just Canal Street. Little Italy is more than Mulberry Street (but not much more, considering most of what used to be Little Italy is now Chinatown or plain housing).

Little Italy is on Mulberry Street, Chinatown is on Canal street, there is a fabulous diner on 51st and Broadway where they have singing waitresses, and waiters, the discount broadway show outlet is at 41st and Broadway, Monday Night Magic is at 423 W. 46th street, and if you let Michael Chaut know you are a magician he will invite you to go out and eat with the performers after the show, Coney Island will be closed in December, the Rockets Christmas show requires advance tickets, there is a BBQ joint in mid town where magicians meet on Saturday afternoon, there are two magic shops in Manhattan, but a visit to Tannins will disappoint you. Be sure to get a 24 hour subway pass, or a 7 day pass, and the big apple will be your own personal aduly Disneyland. New Yorkers are very helpful and friendly to strangers, but you must stop them to get their attention, because they are all zoned out, there is a lot of busking in the subway system. There is lots of other stuff to do there, but you would need several trips to do more than that.

First you call people ignorant, and then you call where the person's hometown a "dump". I'd love to break bread with you at your estate.

I love when IGNORANT HICKS talk bad about New Jersey. Not from experience of course, but from their warped perception.
There are thousands of reasons why NEW JERSEY is a better place to live than the dump you call "home"...I'm not going to even try to mention them. Better food, art, entertainment, culture, climate, sports, education, talent, air quality, the beach in summer, skiing in the winter. Just to name a few. No hurricanes, tornados, floods, or earth quakes either.
Here's a bit of advice...stay inside your (very) little closed mind. Hide. And fear all that you know NOTHING about. Never leave your hole and don't ever try anything new.
Open minds open doors!
You're not tough enough to visit, let alone, live here. The county I live in has more expensive real estate than Beverly Hills. My monthly maintenance fees are higher than your yearly mortgage. Even funnier, gas prices here are lees than where you live. Truth is, I don’t want you to visit because you will find out just how great this state is (Original 13) and go back home only to tell all the hillbillies you live with. Then y’all will be coming. And frankly, this state ain’t big enough to accommodate you or your girth.
But that said. New York IS a GREAT walking town. But I love to cover more ground on bicycle.
Santa – I USED to think you were kinda cool? You’re from California, right? ‘Nuff said. Full of fruits and nuts.
Matt – You are welcome to visit, but first wipe that schmutz off your face…there’s enough freaks running around the city, already.
Al – true, and it kind of sucks, but there are a LOT of (let’s just say) non locals here. And I only go to Italian joints that have REAL Italians. Tourists only go to the places where South Americans and Mexicans are working the kitchen. Hence, one more reason to have ME show you the real city. Bike, walk, train, taxi and even the ferry, there's many ways to see it all!
Hey now…
