Because he simply knows that no matter how hard he tries and how much magic he practices, he will NEVEr get any where close to the high level it takes to wear the red jacket of mystery.
What is the starter clothing a magician first gets before trying to climb to achieve the ultimae magic clothing of the Jacket of Mystery?
