Pat Butrum was Gene Autrey's side kick and Mr. Haney, Pat Brady drove Nelly Bell and it was because he wouldn't have been near as funny on a horse.

It was actually, "Hi Yo, Silver" not "Hi-Ho" . It's a shortened form of Hey You. Clayton Moore told me this.
