Yesterday I was playing around with the mcmillan switch when I came up with a variation, so I was wondering if this has ever been published or anyone else has played with it. I still have to practice the move but here's a video:

Thanks looked good.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

That switch did look good but I have to ask this question. Did that card go into your lap or on the floor? In either case if it did than it's not good. Why? Because when you're playing poker, what about the two guys that will be sitting opposite of you on both sides? Are they not suppose to see this flying or lapped card?
For a magic trick switch it's excellent I just want to know if it's for the card table. Doc |

It went into my lap, but it can also be ditched by relaxing yur hand on the deck or you can keep it in your apparently empty hand to switch it in later.

The actual flipping over of that card was a little too jerky and the long pause before that only exaggerates it.
Again, this is a turnover switch. It takes place at the showdown. You are looking at this card for too long, and that looks unnatural and makes the actual switch and the displaying of the card appear unnatural. Almost like you are trying to make the hand quicker than the eye. Try to do it in one smooth motion and to make it look more fluid as well as more natural. And, as mentioned before, the fact that the card on the table was not bent before it was turned over and is all kinds of bent afterwards is not exactly what you are looking for. Would the move fly? Depends on where you are trying to use it. I say work on this move, don't get discouraged, and keep up with your work and development. Remember, the real fun is in getting there. Once you've gotten there, that part's over. CC |
