Hey everyone,
so I just bought a new gaff deck from ellusionist-- the blue and also the ghost. I know the basic sleight of hand but would like to know more. Also, what are the best tricks to use the different gaff cards with. Could you give me some step by step ideas for tricks please? If I get enought I might publish a book -- ill keep you all posted. Thanks! eman44 |

Mark, LOL
Check out Justin Miller's Army of 52 DVD. Unfortunately the DVD is very limited in the sense of color changes (erdnase, shapeshifter). I recommend that you use your imagination, and pick up Royal Road to Card Magic if you don't already have it. I don't think you can publish a book if you are currently restricted by "basic sleight of hand".... Good luck. Cheers SH NOTE: If this post was derogatory in any way, please know that it was not my intention. |

SH,
Its all good, I have a friend who is a printer and thought that it would be cool but that is a good point, I need to get better before I publish. Thanks for bringing me to reality for a second. EB |

O well thanks I guess it is true that I should not make a book. I will improve the magic skills first then get back to you... or not. I promise that I will never publish a book unless it is something completely new and original!
Sorry for the stupidity, it was a stressful evening last night. I wont ever create a topic that dumb. EB |

Hi eman44,
I purchased the same deck a few weeks ago (ghost gaff) with an aim to enhancing certain effects and to freak out a few of my die hard students for fun. Army of 52 is certainly recommended if you want to see a few effects in action, however, I would go down the route of exploring the many effects in various written resources widely available and then do what I do - see something you like and think how you could adapt it using your gaff deck, it's not that difficult once you get started. I'm researching what I can do with the four kings in there - it's taking time and I'm learning quite a bit in the process, which can only be for the greater good of my performances. For instance, I've just been watching a DVD and realised that there are a certain 4 cards (names preserved to protect the innocent ) in the deck that are perfect for the "Princess Cards" effect. I'll leave you with researching that one, but it's a fun "one shot only" effect that utilizes some of the cards you've bought. Have fun. Cheers, Matt |
