My friend and I are working on building a rabbit production boxa based on a design in the Mike Wilson book of Magic. We are wondering what the best dimentions would be to make the rabbit comfortable but not to allow to much movement or make the box to big. Any body have an suggestions?

Quite simply, what kind of rabbit are you going to use? A Flemish Giant is a beautiful WOW production, a huge rabbit compared to the dwarf rabbit.

Even though they were all dwarfs, they can get larger than expected. To answer your question, buy a full grown rabbit that doesn't mind being petted. They you can size it to him. (I perfer boys to girls only because the females have been known to bite and at times they are very nasty and scratch. Understand I've had at least 20 rabbits and the ones that worked best with kids were the males. Other entertainers may have a different opinion based on their rabbit. My next will be one of these giants! I'll have to build an illusion to produce him! PS Like big dogs (Great Danes), big rabbits make big messes and require more work to maintain.

If you already have the rabbit, put it in a cardboard box that is approximately the size of the box you want to build. Use other pieces of cardboard to enclose the rabbit inside the box. You'll be able to tell when the rabbit seems comfortable and at that point, take your measurements. Now you know the smallest size box that the rabbit currently feels comfortable in, but remember, rabbits grow, so leave him a little growing room.
