Try temporary tattoos. http://www.schooltattoos.ca/

Kids love them and most adults are accepting of them.

I prefer to give out something they can stick on the fridge and keep. Tattoos are temporary and once they have a bath, your info is gone!

I agree with James. This is why I like to give out my 8 by 10's signed as well as magicians assistant certificates. I also give out the photo of the birthday kid floating (with my contact information on it as well as fridge magnets etc. antyhignt aht I feel has value that will be kept and displayed or shown around.

I've given some thought to this subject and I have to go with the jumbo dollars.

Business cards, forget it. They have as much value to kids as a tip calculator or election year schedule.

Trading cards—each child gets one—so how is trading possible? Besides, I'm not a famous athlete, and I’m not arrogant enough to think kids are going to be scrambling for my picture.

Coloring page—better, but once colored in it will probably be thrown away. There’s only so much room on the fridge, and the child’s original drawings are probably already on there.

Fortune-Telling Fish—still better, but the business card in there will probably get lost, despite what you tell the kids. Putting a sticker on the envelope is also a poor idea because then it will cover up the instructions, which the kids will be curious to read. So the sticker will end up on the floor or in the trash.

Jumbo Bill—Cheap to buy, has your info on it, is a novelty and has room for SEVERAL tricks on the back, rather than just one like a trading card. I have heard of these ending up in the bottom of a kid’s bureau drawer and being fished out later by the parents to book the magician.

A couple things have worked well for me. I have business card magnets that are cheap to get these days, you can google it for the best rates going now. When you do an in home party, put it on their fridge yourself. I have customers who have had the magnet on thier fridge for 5 years. Curses to those with stainless steel appliances!! However, look in the pantry and you will find a magnet board where they put all the magnets ;o)

Second- Give your business card to anyone who asks and most people who don't! There is no better money spent than a couple cents on business cards. I get them 5,000+ at a time! I came up with a funny bit years ago where I told the kids when they came up to pet the bunny they would get a special "People for Petting Bunnies Official Membership Card" and then I gave them my business card. Some kid in line would always look at me and say- Hey, this is your business card to which I would reply in a W.C. Fields voice- move along kid, move along. It got a great laugh from adults. Has to match your persona. I took this a step further and made up business cards that said- People for Petting Bunnies Official Membership Card on them and it worked so well I made a postcard that had more info on the back. Now I have a free postcard with the 1-31 number trick on the front and directions and info on the back. Every kid gets one! HUGE SUCCESS with that! I posted the front of the card as an attachment if it works.
