Nick V Said "Factory Sealed was coined and copyrighted long before many of you may know. Factory Sealed has been performed and in the public eye in North America for quite some time now. Source material and history proves this. It's nice to see people finding interest."
Ahhh..yea..as a matter of copyright law...your patter WAS copyrighted the first time you spoke or wrote some orignial thoughts. As a matter of copyright law...that claim really needs to go on the materials..so go ahead and tell us...when was your first claim on the oriiginal performance. |

So for one who own's other CIB's (like Impervious), is there enough in FS to warrant purchasing?
Be honest. |

Are you a creator of a CIB? Just find it strange that you come out saying Abyss is the be all end all, then change with a kind word about Factory Sealed, now this post with wanting to know the exact dates of the creation. I for one know that a creator should not release a date in public forum. Only for the sheer fact that others may push their creation date back further to claim they were the ones to create first. Just my 2 cents.

Overall these are both nice effects. The teaching is superb and the production quality is exactly what you expect from http://www.ellusionist.com. Marc Fugarino Quote:
I let the spectator hold the bottle last night for the first time performing a CIB. It really floored them more-so then if I just performed Untouchable. In the hands is the way to go. Quote:

We are talking facts. Anyone "pushing back" as you call it...would be committing fraud. If you talk big about facts...tell FACTS. If you are submitting copyright forms and signing legally sworn statements...anything else could land you in jail. |

Copywrite laws in magic are very weak! copared to music anyway. I think FS is really great and I like the penatration, but at the same time, people spent a huge amount of time saying how angle sensitive "sealed in" is and saying oh FS is the real deal. when at the end of the day the use the same method to hide the coin. which was firt shown befor any other factory sealed cib, in my DVD sealed in. I know that they have a nice surrounded version on the dvd, but the main effect, uses the same pricible of sealed in, which I brought out first, and it is impossible to copywrite a trick like factory sealed, you can only copywrite a name of a trick or script in the trick not method, not in this case anyway. and in the land of magic, the origional effect is sealed in cos it was released first and factory sealed in my opinion is just a different way of doing my trick, with out at any point on the dvd giving any credit to any one else who has has come up with a coin in bottle effects, like myself or chris etc...
sorry to go on but it is how it is, and as a creator, to see a method which I came up with, re-relesed really annoys me, and I don't think it is rite that ellusiont get away with it cos they are this huge company. it seems to me the have no respect at all for any magic creators that don't work for them, if they did they would give credit where it is due! |

Ellusionist is not using your concealing method, Alex.
They are using my method. I know, I remember signing the contract which permitted them to do so. The DVD was not "just filmed". You are looking at magic history. Quote:

Copyright only covers EXPRESSION of the idea...not the idea. Covers patter...very unique handling. Basic method...open game. hint: Search Wikipedi for any of the levitations.
Now I have "invented" a quick method for actually rendering the bottle...factory sealed...same seal as from factory...no sticky...no fake caps...no play acting...same seal..same look..same feel..from the factory. Is this the "Boracay subtletie"...or does the ability to give it to spectator..let them open real deal factory seal...take it to whole new level? Hey e...you got 3 IT DVDs...how about one more CIB? Peace. |

Not only is the unique melt an absolute visual feast to the eyes, but the slow penetration effect into a factory sealed bottle, at the very point of impact can be immediately handed out (or even snatched by the specs) for examination.
As shown even in the first demo (teaser) performed properly can allow the spec to tamper with the seal and leave them absolutely baffled even long after the effect is over by saying "But, I opened up the seal" On-the-spot magic of this calibur and GIMMICKLESS! (for gimmicks are not needed) Can't imagine wanting anything else.

FS is not the same as sealed in except for the plot and the one common point in the method that is found in every CIB.
1. the set up is totally different 2. the penetration is completely different 3. the "seal" is different 4. theres a way to do FS surrounded 5. the non-surrounded version has a unique penetration to other CIB's etc. etc. etc. Sealed In is not the same as FS. It's like saying that Jumping Gemini and the Biddle Trick are the same because they both use an elmsley count. Alex, Sealed In is good, but you're acting like you invented the CIB plot and other effects on the market copied your method

1. the set up is totally different etc etc etc is right...the list goes on... I agree palmtreemagic, It's like night & day and then midnight again with a full moon. It doesn't even come close to Factory Sealed. |

I went ahead and purchased both DVDs. Factory Sealed and Bullet.
I liked them both and both the are beatifull effects. They both have basic principle but they are complete different concepts and effects. Actually you can start performing Factory Sealed and finish up with Bullet and you will have a complete sequence and routine. As a matter of fact if you add some of the moves from Silver Dream as Justins suggest or some from catapult you will end up perfectly clean. It all depends on your skills and abilities. Actually if you are not confident with your sleight of hand you can even use an M5 from Ellusionist or your Raven and finish clean as well. I hate all these reviews and critics. It only shows how limited is their creativity. For me all these DVDs provide great ideas and tools that I combine to create my own effect or improve others that I have learned. Get both DVDs. It is a good package |
