Saw Derren Brown on Richard & Judy last night.
Anyone else see this?
He did an effect whereby the a letter of the alphabet freely decided upon by Judy, matched the prediction written in a sealed envelope.

I know the method behind this effect. But I would like to know about the envelope.

Is this a marketted envelope and if so, where can I get one?

Hope I'm not giving too much away.
Many Thanks

You know the method but want to know where you can get the marketed envelope?

The envelope is perfectly normal in every way ... think about it some more.

Pretty certain he's using a Swami. But the paper is in the envelope when he asks what letter she's thinking of.
Presumed the envelope must be gaffed in order for him to use the Swami at that point.

It's great thinking behind Derren and his team that take a 'normal' trick and then enhance it to fool magicians and laymen alike.

The effects he did were:

1. He wrote down a letter of the alphabet, and put it in an envelope. Judy thought and said a letter. Derren opened envelope and it had the letter written on it.

2. Richard thought of a street name on a map. Derren with various psychological patter, marked on a map where Richard was thinking.

3. He got Richard to think of something (an object), and then got Judy to 'read' Richard's mind and say the object he was thinking about...

What gets me with Derren's supposed 'preshow' work is how he gets away with telling whoever he does the effects for to 'change their mind a few times' before settling on an answer...?... Smile
