I had a paddle which got broken in my pocket somehow. I'd like to get another, but I don't know the name. It has 3 "diamonds" and one "ruby." I tell people that this is my counting stick, and the ruby will move from position 1 to 2 to 3 and to 4 and back again.
Does anyone know the name of this paddle? Thanks, Gene |

Hank Lee has a version of it called Crosstown which uses green and red gems for a story involving traffic lights.
http://www.hanklee.org/xcart/product.php......0&page=1 Note that they describe it as a white paddle; the one I received is black. They say it has three red gems and a green. Mine is three green gems and a red. Posted: Nov 6, 2007 12:26am Correction: my Crosstown paddle is clear, not black. |

It's been a while...but could it be jumping gems?

It's not jumping gems, that involves two paddles. The one I am looking for is black with a ruby at the end on one side and 2nd from the end on the other. The way I used it was show the ruby at the end, regular turn over, special turn over, regular turn over to make it look like the ruby went from one end to the other.

Odd, but until I read this thread, I never even considered that paddles had specific names to other people. I guess I'm stuck in the color changing pocket knife generation! (As a lobbyist, they take my pocket knives every time I enter the building. I wonder if they would take my paddle? Has anyone hijacked a building with a paddle yet?)

I don't think the particular one I have is available anymore, and I'll have to dig it out when I get home to be sure of the exact name, but are you thinking of "Gem-Sational?"

Magiguy,
I Googled Gem-Sational but nothing came up that matched a magic trick of any kind, so I don't know if it's Gem-Sational or not. Thanks, Gene |
