Guys, I'm looking for some of these scams. I'd prefer authentic, so I'm not looking to build my own. We have a group here in ABQ that performs at charity events and I want to use them there, where people know they're going to get conned, but want to out cheat the cheat. The problem is that, as fun as Three Card Monte, the Shell Game, and Fast and Loose are, the shells and monte have both been exposed and it's a little harder to get the specs to play. Anyone know where I can get the weighted milk bottles, legitimately rigged wiffle ball catchers and all those other fun scams that we're not supposed to enjoy anymore?

I have. I've even talked to some guys that own quite a few of these machines. He gets his from police stations that have collected them from the carnivals. We don't have any here in town like that. I'm talking about inner workings of machines that make them impossible to win or extremely easy to win, depending on the operator.

Here is a link to a site that sells carnival games and might be able to help.

http://funforsale.com/home.html

Here is another link to a site that has a LOT of other links to various carnivals and supplies. Just look through it and you might find just what you need.

There is a police officer from Brunswick Georgia on here who is an expert at carnival games and wrote a very interesting book on it. I don't remember the name he uses here but he likely will pop up.

Glenn Hester is that carny cop. Also Bruce Walsted used to have a bunch of gaffed games that he sold.

My advice is to pick up on those cover the spot games at carnival depot. Put the time in learning to do it right and you will have a charity money maker.

Not rigged, but a duck pond can be an OK money maker with enough kids about.

Well I mean little knowlege will always plays for advantage. People still want to play it, for some reason. Check Simmon Lovvel podcast, he talks about it I think.

Here what I was able to find. http://www.carnivalgames.net/ http://www.amusement-supply.com/

Jeff, speaking of Bruce Walstad, he sold me a set of Gamblers Beads which I have used in my training sessions. Great effect and no one can win unless they know the secret. If you need Bruce's email, click on my picture and click on my email link instead of PMing me. I will send you his email address.

I have several gaffed games in my collection, but I do use them for training purposes. I would love to put on an event like you are doing. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I know Bruce very well. He's the guy I was talking about that showed me some of the rigged games. He's the president of my home IBM ring and a good friend.

Cover the Spot would be a good place to start; it hasn't been widely shown to the general public, and even if you do know about it, it's still a b1tch to do properly! Also, because it's not gaffed at all, people are more likely to try over and over again, meaning more cash for your charity.

With time, however, it gets a lot easier.

Take care, Ian

Check with Ian Kendall. He's a frequent visitor here. In fact, if you look down a few topics you find all sorts of info on this game.
