Waters:
No great mystery as to why today is the last day I'll be selling A Card Merely Thought Of... I put this e-book out to share my discoveries re: the history and techniques for the Think-of-a-Card theme, and to put my name on some of the methods I have invented. I've done that to the best of my ability, and those who have purchased have been very enthusiastic in their praise. I thank you all. Although sales are still quite strong, I always think that it's best to keep things a tiny bit exclusive, as with exclusivity comes a certain pride in ownership. I'm hoping that pride will translate into respect for the material, so that it will be used well. So, that's my reason for stopping sales after today. Thanks to everyone who purchased A Card Merely Thought Of... - entity

Is it just me, or is the way entity handled the sale of this material the classiest marketing of magic literature in a long time?
He released an e-book containing what knowledgeable magicians have commented was the BEST material on this effect to date. His e-book was routinely praised for its graphic effort. Well laid out, easy to read, the furthest thing from slap-and-dash that is so common with e-books these days. He didn't charge $200.00 for it. He GAVE UP revenue by removing the manuscript from the market in order to maintain value to those who had already purchased it. Class all the way. I don't do this kind of card magic, and am not a customer for entity's manuscript.........however I watched this manuscript debut here on the Café, sell well, and then get "retired". And I thought the whole time that entity is marketing his manuscript the way all magic should be marketed. Of course the mighty dollar dictates that all magic WON'T be marketed this way, but it's refreshing to see it when guys like entity do it right, and with integrity. |

(Especially as a purchaser) my only hope now is that those who did purchase, do not decide to "share" (see other threads on the Internet's effects on magic if you don't get the connotation)
I love this piece of work....

What's the difference between a magician and a deck of cards? A deck of cards has FOUR suits... |

Just a short note: I've been receiving continued requests and orders for A Card Merely Thought Of... even though the "close date" has passed.
Thanks to all who have ordered, but I've been returning the monies to those who've ordered after the "close date" with my apologies that the e-book is no longer available. cheers, - entity

Hello! What are the differences between the routines from entity and from Rannie? And where is it possible to order them? I lust have missed that, sorry, but it's a little late here...

Rannie's been talking about coming out with a book soon, I think. I haven't seen what he's putting in his book, so I can't really say how it differs from what's in my book.
Rannie? If you're reading this, is your book out yet? - entity

I am very happy that I was able to get this enjoyable manuscript when it first came out... it is an excellent resource for the history of this type of effect, and the ideas within are enticing. I want to give my thanks to Mr Baxter for his efforts and hard work, I truly appreciated it.

Hey!!! I tried the last impossible trick on my girlfriend (who knows a few things in magic) and it worked!!! She was amazed!!! The effect is that you put a card on the table and ask the spectator to name any card. He names a card and returns the tabled card himself: it's the named card!!! No change, you're far from the table... I don't think it's a new trick, but I'm glad it's in the manuscript!

Yes, many of the effects in the e-book read as being impossible, but they all work, if you practice them. Keep the secret to that last one to yourself, and you'll have something that many others won't be able to copy. - entity

I hate to jump in and bump a thread, especially one where the product is unavailable, but I had the pleasure of meeting with Entity last Friday and I witnessed him performing various versions of his card merely thought of. I have to say that it was the most wonderful and exciting demonstration of close up magic I have ever witnessed. Even knowing what was going on it was mind blowing. I had read through his manuscript and the difference between reading it and seeing it ACTUALLY work was incredible.
I cannot express my excitement enough and have already been on at him to put it into DVD format just to show it off. |
