Shipping out today!

Will be there in the dealer room as early as I can the 15th with the Silk Candy Store (6,200 silks and silk tricks) and some of the Walk-Around Silk to Egg sets that are keeping us busy shipping.

At 4PM on the new schedule is a rope lecture by Magic Ian. I don't want to miss it. Last year I heard more about Ian's lecture than any other. I know why he is back!

Following his lecture with mine at 5PM Saturday will raise the bar for me. I'll practice all the way to Tampa! Ian is one of the most creative minds out there.

Kyle,

Don't miss your plane!

Kyle,

Have fun in Tampa and give us an update when you get back. I may give you a call while I am on the road on Sunday and Monday.

WOW GUYS!

The convention has been awesome so far!

Friday we saw lectures from Ward Hall, Daryl Mac (metal bending), Magic Ian (Dancing with Ropes), Andrew the Blind Magician, and Mike Jones (Balloon Animals).
Each lecture brought amazing new insight to their field as well as fun.

The night's Cabaret show was spectacular! A great performance from Magic Ian whose act included chopping a spectator's arm in half and displaying so, Aldo and Rachael Colombini's humorous mind reading act as well as Aldo's sleight of hand, Kyle Jarrard's comedy magic with such orginality that promises him to be quite the rising star in the near future, and a special act set to music using silks and dove from Andrew the Blind Magician.

Look's like Saturday is going to be delightful.

Bob Sanders lecture was super. I never knew much about how silks were made or how to make your own designs. What great ideas and the silks were absolutely beautiful. So, prices were great, silks were beautiful, and as you know from Bob's posts on the Café, the lecture had lots of "Bobisms".

The silk production methods, and the advantages of using pure silks was a revelation. Of course Bob's Southern gentleman delivery added to the delightful lecture. It was one of the convention highlights and a welcome change from the usual cards and coins stuff. Give me a platform lecture any day of the week.

There were lots of methods using twentieth century silks, blendo, and Bob's famous silk to egg routines. Sympathetic silks, fountain of silks, and most of all routining silks. What I really liked about the lecture was that he didn't beat you over the head with commercialism. He doesn't sell the effects, with the exception of the softsoap, twentieth century, and "This" effect, you learn to make your own silk effect easily. This was a performer's dream. I recommend this lecture for any club serious about their entertainment value.
