John, could you tell us, what important points Nathan did leave out, without telling everything?

Received this last week and have this to say:
If you don't perform for people other than your loved ones, relatives, spouses, pets, etc. This routine will not appeal to you. If you are looking for a mind-blowing method that will "do the work for you". This routine will not appeal to you. If you are looking for stock lines and jokes that will make you a funny performer. This routine is not for you. If you are a 'collector of secret methods'. This routine is not for you. If you are buying the routine to find out what "it" is that Nate left out of the ad text. This routine is not for you. If you are waiting for someone to "tip their mitt" and "spill the beans" on this thread about what this routine is all about (including the method). Keep waiting, it will eventually happen due to the stupidity of so-called magicians everywhere. But I repeat, this routine is not for you. This is a worker for the workers. Workers know that they have to adapt EVERYTHING to fit their personality/character/persona. Workers know that even one joke, line or bit of business can sometimes be worth $149.00 Workers rarely post anything on this forum, because they are out actually performing. Workers rarely review anything they really use, because all the undercutting amateur and semi-pros instantly add it to their own acts. Workers also know that parting with actual working pieces honed and polished over thousands of performances is very hard to do. Thanks Nate I appreciate your output and your release of this routine. For me, it's worth every penny. Bill Abbott |

I think Mr. Abbott said it all, If you are not a real worker, This is not for you, I just could not find a joke in it, that was worth the $149.00. But that maybe just be me. John

I just got read thru the entire script, and I want to give a bad review, but only to keep it out of the hands of the mere curious, or people who won't appreciate it. I'm a worker and I loved it. I'm not going to tip anything, it won't do any good. I agree %100 with everything that Bill said so if your a worker too, what are you waiting for. If not please don't buy it, you honestly will hate it if your not a worker.
Adam P.S: I think for the performance rights including TV its a steal!!! |

Ok... I just received mine.
Bill Abbott has some good thoughts on it. But here are mine... some are the same...of course I have not performed it yet... It is true, this is for the worker and not just your typical magician. This is for the comedy magician. If you do not sell yourself as that, this will not work for you. If magic is a portal for you to entertain with humor, you can do something with this. The jokes in the routine are not going to make you roll on the floor laughing when reading them. But if you are a funny person, you can see yourself doing this, and your movements, and how you would present this. You would also start adding to the jokes, in your head, while reading the instructions. But if you do magic to be magical, than you should pass on this one. But like I said, if magic is your portal, this will work very nicely. Now, about the vagueness of the ad... why? Quite simple... there is more than one way to perform this. Some may suit others better. For instance... There is one way that would be very very funny if I did it. But I sure wouldn't do it for a church. I would use one of the other ways. Someone asked earlier about an envelope with the prediction in it. That is one way to do it, but very boring. So that's the main reason why the vagueness. Of course another is just to keep people from stealing the idea. Now the price... Quite simple.. it's to keep the hacks from doing it. And I can relate. I have a trick that I created that very few know about. I thought about putting it out, and if I did it would be very expensive. Just because I don't want just anybody doing it. Same here, no way does these frisbees cost that much. So in conclusion... If you know how to take a funny routine and customize it for yourself so that you can be very funny... go ahead and buy it. Bill you missed an important point from your workers list..
Workers very rarely rattle on about how their opinion is so worthy because they are workers, they are to busy working!! “Worker” the most misused word in the magic world, over used in all magic hype, worker, worker blar blar blar, buy the trick if you don’t like it sell it just don’t tell me what a great “WORKER” you are, I have seen some of these workers, if they were in my garden I would pull the curtains good night god bless DR |

A question to those who own this...
Is this really a great opener? It just sounds like it takes a while for anything magical to happen. I want my opener to establish that I am worth watching, quickly... I currently use two different openers for my stand up show. Both are productions. Both allow the magic to happen within 30-45 seconds. I don't even do "introductions" prior to my opener. I want to get their attention immediately... I use audience participation in my show but never right out of the gate. I want them to "warm" up to me. I don't understand why this is being labeled as an opener. What do you guys think? I'm sure this can be put in anywhere in your show, correct? |

Hart,
It would depend on your act reread randirain's statement, your present openers say magic not Mental. It could be used anywhere in your act, but like most of the posts are saying, you will have to rework it to make it fit you. There really is not anything magical about it, it is a mental effect and unfolds slowly. Hope This helps John

Hart Keene, it's a great opener as it shows you as a fun person and gets people going, laughing, and ready to have a good time.
Like I said, if this is not your way performing than it will not work for you. Randi |

Thank you Randi...
As I had said earlier in this thread I have never been disappointed with anything Kranzo put out. Didn't think this would be any different... Since Kranzo is here, a quick question for him....Are you "mixing" magic and mentalism in your shows or have you gone solely to mentalism? Stand up shows that is... BTW, you put on a great lecture(one of my favorites to date!) a few years back here in Eugene. You, Lee, myself and a few others headed back to Kip's afterwords...good times! |

When I openend my package, I went through a short period of "ah crap". I felt like I had been ripped off. I realized I already knew the method as soon as I scanned the instruction book. That made me feel a little sick to my stomoach at first... to be very honest!
However, after I studied the manual carefully I realized I have a viable and commercial routine in my hands. I am certain it will play well. Here are the strong points: 1) The script is well timed out. In other words it milks every moment for maximuim entrtainment potiential. 2) The script is reasonably funny. Everyone will want to add their own touches, but it is a great spring board. 3) The frisbees and colors are a fantastic idea and have lots of action and visual appeal! 4) It's obvious to me based on my experience, that it's a worker. Nathan has worked out every moment... psycologically it's very stong! I'm now in the process of learning the routine and preparing to perform it. May not be ready for my next stage gig (December 19th) but I"m delighted that I have purchase this trick Nathan did an excellent job. I'm glad to have number 27. Thanks Nathan!
Mediocrity is greatly under rated!

I feel the threads here might be scaring off some people, who could benefit from this effect, my own comments included.
This effect maybe for real workers, but it can also be used as a great learning tool for those performers who are just putting their acts or effects together. The thinking behind the effect is sound the methods used have been proven over time to be effective. You would spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars if you were to pay someone to sit down with you and mentor you for the knowledge he is offering you. John

Have to agree with the last part of Magicdog's post, I wasn't buying $175 frisbees, I was buying a ready made, already worked out routine!!

I didn't bother reading through all the posts, but I just received this, and after showing the effect to my stage manager and assistants, we agree that when we tour next summer this will be our opener (speaking opener... we open with an illusion and a rope effect to music).
I think this routine is wonderful and am excited about performing it. Thanks Nathan for making it available! -Mike
