Press Release, November 15, 2007,
"Rick Maisel, Escape-artist/Magician to Perform His World Record Straitjacket Escape Over The Grand Canyon, Hanging Upside-Down Beneath Helicopter for Worldwide Performance!" This is to verify that Rick Maisel is, finally, going to perform (attempt) his most dangerous, and soon to be, most famous escape/stunts, performing his "world record strait-jacket escape", hanging upside-down beneath his helicopter pilot's aircraft, while hovering over the Grand Canyon, AZ, over a mile high. After the escape, Rick disengages the boots he's hanging by and hangs by one hand. Rick has the option of going back into the aircraft before landing or letting go of the safety ring, upon landing. There will be a second helicopter that will carry the photographers, including "Incredible Features", representing over 200 publications, worldwide, C.N.N., etc., "German Television, RTL" and "Guinness Book of Records". Besides Rick's liability insurance with Lloyd's of London, Maisel and his equipment are authorized to perform escapes, beneath helicopters (and hot-air, helium balloons) up to 30,000 feet. The stunt is going to take place toward the end of this year, with the exact performance dates to be announced very soon. Rick Maisel is known, worldwide, primarily for his performing the only escape from handcuffs/leg-irons, while inside a spinning washing machine, full of soap and water. He must escape before the machines' deadly spin cycles. As with all of Rick's escape/stunts, "please, don't think of attempting" anything you see at: http://www.rickmaisel.com Rick, just performed an intimate one-hour escape/magic show at the Magic Juggler Theater last week (Alb., NM), which he'll perform, as available. Of course, Rick Maisel would like to invite everyone he knows, whose able and/or available, to attend "The Grand Canyon Escape"!
