I am more impressed by the use of the folded handkerchief as a purse - though there does seem to be too much fumbling on the extraction

Perhaps it would be OK to say "I'll see if I can select the silver coin by feel alone - no hole, Ah, here it is" or something

Thanks for that Funsway - I was purely trying to show how I use the Mobius wallet in a CSB routine. It's used to holdout the gimmick here and then to switch in and out as required with no need to go to the pockets.

Absolutely fantastique routine and one of the best and inspiring I've seen. I wholeheartedly concur as these types of purses circumvent going in and out of the pockets which I've always felt causes nothing but confusion and suspicion.

Have you guys seen Traveler? ...The Traveler Wallet can make your changes mentioned here with several distinct advantages: You can do so visibly, instantly and no need for a table. It comes with four complete worker's routines and is easy to use. Not to mention is priced very competitively. It has amazing reviews here on the Café. You can find more info and a demo right here: https://shop.copelandcoins.com/products/......s-wallet

Jeffrey, I have your Traveler wallet and I also have a few of Tony Miller's Möbius wallets. While your wallet has some nice features and you offer a few nice routines for it, I cannot see how it would work for making the necessary switches in a CSB routine. The Himber wallet from Frank at The Ambitious Card makes switching the coins very easy and deceptive, and Tony's Möbius wallet makes it even easier. But I just don’t see the Traveler being able to do the same, at least not without a lot of unnecessary fumbling - talking about the CSB routine only of course.

Can you explain how to execute these switches without exposing any secrets?

Thank you.

Jim

BTW, excellent performance Sean! Thanks for posting that video. Smile

Hi Warren - my set is made by Roy Kuepper buddy.

Thanks for the kind comments too guys - it was fun adding the routine into my stage show! Not sure if my niece Claire had fun though LOL

Yes Jim I also have both the traveler and möbius wallets but struggle to see how I could utilise the traveller wallet in my CSB routine. I'll be interested to hear from Brother Jeffrey n this.

I'm sure Mobius and Traveler work great but look unlike any coin purse spectators have ever seen compared to a standard Himber coin purse.

Thank you so MUCH for your purchase, Rmendez!! I know you are gonna love it. depends on where you live. I'm not arguing anything. Just sharing my perspective. SA and Europe it seems people have seen odd shaped purses and use them all the time. In America coin purses and coin wallets are very rarely seen at all so any one may look strange, particularly if a man is holding it. So I give context or purpose for using the wallet in all my routines taught. You get four with Traveler purchase! In general. I think that When we pull out old coins they are unlike what most spectators see regularly, so why not have an unusual, conversation starting coin wallet like the Traveler ?Think of all the great story lines you could create! I hope you all that get it enjoy !

Hi Brother Jeffrey. The Traveler wallet is great, I have it as well as the Möbius. I think what Jim and myself were asking is how would you use it for a CSB routine? It would be nice to hear your input here please. No argument, just wondering how?

Hey Simplymagicweb, great question.

You can use it to switch out gimmicks, such as CSB. So I personally rarely ever use gimmicks. But CSB is the one I will perform. The secret of Traveler allows for a switch. So I can have my regular 3 coins inside but get one ahead with the CSB gimmick while handing out the coins. Or I could have the gimmick inside and use the Traveler to hold back the CSB gimmick because you can Benzias Friction Pass out of the wallet, something unique to Traveler. Basically, if you watch the trailer, you will see me do a Chinese coin to silver switch in the wallet...this is just the beginning and it could obviously be CSB gimmick switched!! you get a ton o material on the video, lots of ideas!

Yeah I get the switching of the CSB gimmick and/or the holding out, but still not sure how you would switch in and out the other two regular coins in the routine? No problem, I'm not the brightest guy on the block! I'm sure a performance only video using The Traveler would help, and maybe lead to more sales for you too Brother Jeffrey? As previously mentioned, I already have the Traveler, but use the Möbius for CSB simply because I can't see how to use the Traveler in this context.

I especially can't see using the secret thing for switching in and out one and two coins. Just not that easy to use it.

On the video posting, if you join the Facebook group: Coinstructors (Here is an open invitation) you will see just a ton of ideas (some incomplete) using Traveler that have been submitted over the last year from people around the world. Many of them switches. I do plan on posting more performance videos in the near future of everything, but it just takes time. You guys are awesome and I appreciate the thoughts.

From my perspective, I want the handling of my wallet to not appear like a puzzle. So when I'm using the wallet to switch in and out, the wallet is open or closed, without over handling with flips and twists, opens and closes. The focus then stays on the coins, not the wallet.

I'm not trying to bash anything. I feel that Traveler can do the essential and set up the routine really cleanly and hopefully not arouse suspicion with minimal handling. Whatever wallet you use, think about the message you are portraying and our magic will be stronger.

I'm looking for a "himber style" pouch for a copper, silver, brass routine where I could put the gaffed coins in at the end, make the switch and show the transformation. Then two ungaffed coins could be handed out for inspection.

Lots of good suggestions, but here's a "non-answer" from left field that I believe addresses what you're trying to accomplish.

Not to knock Tony's Mobius, Jeff's Traveler, or Frank's Himber Coin Portfolio which are all fine products -- I personally own and like all of them -- but you don't need any of them for this.

Check out Bob Sheets' "Triple Transpo"(1). It uses a normal coin purse and is routined to ring the gimmick in and out very cleanly with no difficult moves(2). There is no going to the pockets during the routine(3). It's also got a really nice phase that involves two spectators and has a very visual, almost "right before their eyes" transformation. But back to the original question -- it ends with the copper and brass transforming into the silver, and the _spectator_ retrieving them from the purse.

(1) From "Bob Does Hospitality Volume 2, and I believe also in his Penguin lecture
(2) Trust me, if *I* can do this, anyone can.
(3) There is a ditch to your pocket but it occurs at the end when the routine is over as far as anyone is concerned.

---------------
P.S. You could also do CSB the cheap way and not even use a CSB set. See Apocalypse Vol. 6-10 (Vol. 8 No. 1), page 1016. Right Tony? Smile

All are great purses and switching devices. Personally, I wouldn't perform CSB without one as they keep the coins well organized and the effect self-contained making it ideal for strolling or table hopping. They also circumvent going in and out of the pockets which arouses nothing but suspicion to me.

I am currently using a "Quiver" purse. Currently only available in US through Meir Yedid's site. However, you can buy direct from Kelvin Chow who makes them. Contact him in Facebook Messenger. He sells direct for $35. Free ship, but takes about 2-3 weeks to arrive in US.
Yedid sells for $45, but quickly sells out. Oh, almost forgot: The Quiver can allow the Spectator to open the purse (squeeze style opening)! Only the performer can open the Hidden side of the wallet! https://www.mymagic.com/p/walk-around-ma......vin-chow
I also like to use Dean Dills Coin wallet. Easy to use too.
The C-Purse looks to do about the same as Quiver, except about $70.
For a non-gimmicked switch purse, check out 2-copper 1-silver on Paul Green's DVD "In The Trenches". It uses a small silk snap purse or pouch. Genius and simple. Keeps coins separated and stored so keep in place in your pocket and resets instantly for strolling!

I just ordered the Quiver today from Kelvin Chow and he charges $39 plus $5 shipping. He must have raised his price and now charges shipping

It might have been because I was ordering (2) Quiver. Maybe my price was different price for more than one (?). I could only tell you what the transaction mine was.
Sorry for the discrepancy! Regardless, it is a freaking fantastic switching wallet!!!

Just purchased the C Purse and am now using it instead of my Mobius - very pleased. It's excellent quality, built to last for sure. As a full-time pro, I don't buy lot's of stuff but this is a great purchase and has found a permanent place in my close-up case!

I've never come across either the C purse or the Quiver purse until today but must say the Quiver purse looks excellent. Can someone tell me if there is any difference between the two ie does one handle easier or better than the other, also possibly tell me who sells the C purse or who the maker is etc ?
