I hope this is the correct section to post this request.
The trick we developed, Miracle Money complete with my exact words & movements from the DVD is being exposed on youtube. A How do I find out the name of the person who posted this exposure? B How do I get the exposure removed? There is a time and place to show how a trick works and youtube is not it.

Jay,
is the person using your footage, or has he made his own tutorial? In the later case there might be very little that you can do, I am afraid. This has been discussed a couple of times. The search engine will give you more details. Regarding removal, try to report this to youtube. Hope this helps best Andy best Andy

Yes he made his own video however he uses the exact phrasing to the point where it is word by word copyright infringment. The directions and he DVD both say No part of this DVD may be copied or reproduced by anyone other then Jay Leslie.
Never dealt with youtube. Is there a link to click? Thanks
Jay Leslie

The demo of this product is on our web site and therefore copywritten.
I've sent the appropriate documentation to youtube. Let's see if they see it our way.

I've run into similar issues. I'd love to see how this turns out.

Technically you are on sticky ground. If he's produced his own video then that's OK generally. If it is word for word on your patter then you may have a case. You are probably relying on the the goodwill of You Tube, or at least their policy to tread the line of least resistance.
Copyright doesn't cover your effect, only your precise video and photos, but if his video representation is close enough then, who knows. I think you'll have more chance with You Tube than say Metcafe, who allow greater freedom of expression. |

Guys, if any of that were reasonable there would be no VCA's on YouTube - right?

A copyright is only as good as the holder's willingness to drag the offender through court. Without retaining a private detective to track this sucker down and an attorney to sue his butt into fiscal oblivion (assuming, of course, that you can prove that you've suffered a real monetary loss as a result of his exposure) your copyright is little more than a paper and ink scarecrow.
Good luck with this Jay. Hope you manage to blast this YouTube punk into cyber oblivion.

It is such a shame that youtube has become the public forum for so many magical exposures. I really don't know why people expose magic on youtube but it is not good for our art in general I feel.
Unfortunately it seems like nothing can be done to stop it at the moment.
As magicians we create what onlookers call magic. If they truly believe in what we have created for them to witness then magic is real!!!

I personally don't think that that many lay people search youtube for these videos and even if they do watch them, by the time they actually see a magicain perform chances are that have forgotten.
