Jack McCoy’s IMPOSSABILITIES- Book 1
135 pages, 400+ photos and illustrations Destroyed, Restored, Slightly Dented – This is a torn and restored card illusion that caught the interest of several magicians when it was on my ex-website. According to them and as far as I know, the method is unique. A Magic Box – A piece of paper is examined and instantly folded into a tiny box. With empty hands and the box seen to be empty, a signed coin materializes inside it and is dumped into a spectator’s waiting hand. Also described is a method using a playing card, patter, and a method for vanishing the coin. The Dismay of Desare – a poem of an unfortunate witch is told, during which a signed queen card is folded, stabbed onto a stick, and thrust into a campfire, which burns to ash. The lady who signed the card wakes the next morning to find the card stuck to the outside of her cabin window. Now that’s just mean! EPICONE – a once marketed item. An ordinary business card is folded and torn to where it becomes an impromptu Mental Epic type prop. Two routines are explained along with the method for folding the card. R.A.S.P.I. (Rabbits And Spiders Play Irrationally) – A ring and string penetration illusion. The ring is not only openly linked onto the rope but it’s also locked onto a finger of the hand that’s holding the rope in the center. Thought Vanish – make an unknown card in an unknown position vanish from a packet of cards without any packet switches nor anything hidden (the packet can be examined). I quieted a large group of magicians with this one. V.T.U. (Vanishing The Unknown) – another impossible card vanish, based on a Phil Goldstein illusion. Color Mind – The magician divines a spectators freely chosen color from a packet of color cards, even though the packet is shuffled by the spectator and the magician’s back is turned (or in another room). Watch Me Like a Buzzard – A card trick based on a Bro. John Hamman classic. A spectator’s card vanishes from a packet of aces and appears in a pocket. No palming or hard moves whatsoever. Four aces are shown numerous times during the routine all the way to the end. Zodianagram – the anagram principle used in the divination of a spectator’s zodiac sign. It’s similar to T.A. Waters’ versions (Signse, Mind, Myth & Magick- pg. 460) but uses a different letter and tree structure. Psychic Phoney – an old method of mine for cuing a freely chosen card to a person over the telephone. Great for parties. Simplicity is Beautiful – A favorite of mine. A spectator tries to find his selection, failing numerous times. It’s no surprise as she’s been holding it the whole time. A lady spectator screamed and tossed the card when she realized it’s location. Ultriumphantness – my stand up version of Dai Vernon’s classic. Hard Sniffing – while sampling perfume, a bottle is sucked up the nose and retrieved in one of three ways. Houdinicard’s Great Escape – a signed card excapes from within the confines of two jokers and a deck. The vanish is self-working. The Card Chasers – Despite the spectator cutting two kings into one half of the deck and two kings into the other, and without the magician touching anything, the kings travel together and catch a selection between them. An impromptu brain blaster! Schnap – a broken and restored rubber band illusion. No setup or doubling of the band prior to the break. A Magic Joker – a self-working card trick based on a math principle of Stewart James. W.A.R.T. – a method for doing the cut and restored rope trick. Place Mats – Two selections are revealed in a very unique way. A variation of a Toni Koyini and Phil Goldstein trick, multiplied by 2. Tripping Nickels – A spectator signs a nickel on both sides, which is left in front of him. Another spectator signs both sides of a second nickel, which is left in front of him. The magician picks both up and squeezes them into one nickel with both signatures on it. It’s placed between them to fight over (well, if it was 1920 maybe). Sasha I, II, and III – three variations of a much requested card trick of mine, the first being taught to me by a witch named Sasha, in a dream I had. See, she .......oh nevermind. Deck – Penny – Deck – Nickel – Deck – Dime – Deck – mind reading trick that uses a penny, nickel and dime, and a deck. The Evil Card Trick – a soon to be marketed item, explained in full. Self-working scary card magic. The Living in Texas Card Trick – a big, mean card tornado wipes out a cute little card house with a selection inside. Thank goodness for the storm cellar, the card case, which has the selection safely inside. The Red Bull Can Liquid Suspension – an impromptu trick that has a 4 star rating, been viewed over 72,000 times and favorited 335 times on YouTube. The Underworld Move – a certain type of card move that used in various tricks that follows. Underworld Predictions – The title says it all. The Underworld Switch – Two cards change places very cleanly and openly. Underworld Spectatest – another often enjoyed card trick of mine. Negative Cutter – A two-part routine where different color decks each contain a single contrasting backed card from one another. Those single cards are a freely chosen card (no force). Triple Change – A joker visible changes into one selection, then another, then back to the joker, which is then immediately handed out. From Dummy Jacks to Magic Jacks – the 4 Jacks seek romance, only to bumble everything in the end, creating a magic occurrence along the way. The Underworld Open Prediction – a classic routine, this time utilizing the Underworld move. The Underworld Lie Detector Test – another classic effect without any setup or hard moves. Can’t We All be Mentalists? – a flexible routine that involves a table of 4, or more. Did the magician predict what the spectators would do, or did the spectators predict what the magician did? |

Wow, that sounds incredible! I'd probably buy it when it comes out. How much will it be, and what is the link to your Youtube account?

I'm MagicJack on YouTube, or http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=magicjack .
I've uploaded the book as a pdf. file to a publisher and am waiting for a copy to verify and/or edit before full release. As of this moment, the book will be softbound, 8 X 11" and full color with high resolution photos. Therefore the cost will probably be in the mid $40 dollar mark. There are two other publishers showing interest in it as well, one popular in the magic world, which is tempting but will want more ownership. I'm new with this book publishing thing and am being cautious during my learning curve. I've also considered selling it as a pdf. file. Magically, Jack |
