I wanted to post a comment about this new royalty free product from Steve Saunders - Sleight of Sound.

Like so many of you, I am always looking for good "usable" music to use in my act, be that from the radio, movies, or the generic royalty free stuff that is available. There are already a couple of good sources for magicians, Opus 1 Productions http://www.opus1productions.com/ and Arthur Stead http://www.arthurstead.com/

Steve Saunders new disc is yet another great resource for the performing magician's library of royalty free music to chose from. From my initial listening session, I was immediately impressed with the variety of musical styles available on this 15 track CD. Everything from jazz, to techno, to hip hop rap, Steve has included something for every musical taste. True, probably no one will care for all of the tracks on the cd. However, the compositions are well played, and while all of the instrumentation is probably electronic, it doesn't sound like it.

It is apparent that Steve is an accomplished composer/musician, and the selections that he has offered definitely have a magician's slant to them. Many of the selections have good edit points to them, so it should be easy to edit or shorten many of the tracks to suit your routine.

The tracks are not also provided in an mp3 format, which is commonly used by many of us with a ShowTech or Vitual Soundman setup. However, I ripped them to mp3 with my own program. This might be something that Steve could consider for the future, as in offering the tracks for individual download as Opus 1 has doen with many of their tracks.

Anyway, if you enjoy the generous samples that Steve has made available for free, I'd enoourage you to purchase his Sonic Sorcery cd. http://www.sleight-of-sound.com/

Howdy All,

Just wanted to publicly thank Chris for his very nice review of my Sonic Sorcery CD. (I promise, no bribes were offered -- although Chris did ask me for the keys to my lime-green '78 Ford pinto...)

Every new business goes through various changes as it grows and evolves, and I've received valuable advice from several Café members. Thank you! In fact, I've just added a download shop to my website, offering individual mp3 downloads from Sonic Sorcery. I'm also now offering Custom Composing, which means I'll compose music exclusively for your show, whether it's for a single illusion or a complete stage routine. More info on these NEW services can be found on my website.

Thanks again to Chris, AND for the support and suggestions I've received in this forum. I'm working hard to provide top-quality, royalty-free music for magicians!

Yours in magic & music,

Steve Saunders
