On Tuesday, December 11, 2007, George Schindler, Dean of the Society of American Magicians and past "Magician of the Year” (1986), will be lecturing for the Parent Assembly at the Mount Sinai Medical Center at 1425 Madison Avenue (98th Street) starting at 7:45PM in either the Seminar Room or Room 1184. Admission for Parent Assembly members is free. Once again, admission for Non-Parent Assembly SAM members with current national card will be $20, and that for magician guests will be $25.

George’s lecture is an education in presenting magic as entertainment. He will teach his expertly crafted close-up act that he performs regularly at cocktail parties, trade shows, and walk-around. Not only will he cover his personal handling of Sponge Balls, Card to Pocket, Ambitious Card, and Ring Flight (just to name a few), he will show how to add humor to an act and manage one’s pockets for maximum efficiency while performing. As you will see, he resets all his effects while performing.
