I run my show with a ShowTech. About 1 out of 50 facilities have "dirty" power that cause my Showtech and lightboard to function erratically. I hooked it up to my computers UPS and it seems to work great. I've heard that the UPS for a sound system must be a true-on-line double conversion.
Does anyone know the difference between the on-line vs. step UPS? Will it cause problems with my Showtech/lightboard, or is it more of an issue if I have my amp and mixer attached to a standard UPS vs. the online type? Any help would be appreciated! |

Hey Brock,
Give Randy a call. I am sure he would be able to answer any questions you might have regarding this. JIM |

I use an Anchor explorer which has a built in battery. If I were ever to have problems with the power, I would run it off the battery. I'm not sure how I would feel dragging a UPS around, those things can be pretty heavy!
