I am trying to locate a spinning effect that I saw a clown perform about 2 years ago at LeGrand David. I searched diligently for it when I first saw it and was unsuccessful. Now my mind is a bit cloudy as to its description, but from what I can remember it looked like this:
A stick of sorts with a multitude of colored “bangle” type bracelet like rings on it. The rings were about 3.5 inches in diameter made of metal, each a different metallic color. The performed walked through the audience with the device and the rings spun in, what I believe a globe shape. It was only this stick and the rings. (Maybe it was a large ring, hmmm) Any ideas what this was?

No, it is not that. The rings are much larger (The ones that spin) I think you are on the right track though.

I have a tub full of annoying props in my car port that I take to picnic type functions, which allows me to wrangle 20 to 50 wild children with out doing very much work, so you see my friend sometimes annoying props can be your best allies. Alfonso

I would not use them for a long period of time. I watched the kids faces and saw the amazement. It would fit in my act when I do the I don't understand why this happens bit. The annoying pare would be about 30 seconds. The tough part is that I have to practice it!

In my tub-o-fun I have some stage balls of different sizes, juggling rings, ring frisbees, diabolo's, boomerangs, kendamas, spinning plates, chatter rings, yo yo's, those tubes that whistle when you spin them over your head, cheap juggling clubs, and other stuff that a 6 year old boy would love to get his hands on. With this tub-o-fun I can sit down for hours and help the little monsters learn to play with these uncommon toys. Alfonso

I Googled Gyro, Chatter, Zinger, and Jitter Rings. Other that some type of sex toy, the rest are the smaller washers. I was looking for the larger loops like a bangle bracelet. Maybe I need to try and make one up? I don't know if it would even work.

Maybe try getting in touch with Le Grand David. They might be willing to help you out...from what I know it is a very tight knit family of performers.

I tried that evening - hard to break the ice. I wanted to say hi to all - they are legend. The theatre is beautiful. I might have to keep trying.

But a large group of kids swinging them around would be a bit annoying...not to mention dangerous. Respectfully AL

I have told this story before, but it bears repeating. My wife and I went to the Burlington Vermont juggling convention and she started talking to Art Jennings, well they chatted and wispered to each other for about two days, and she told me that old Art was much younger at heart than his years. I later spent a little time alone with Art and he showed me a picture of his girl friend. That old buzzard was dating a woman several years younger than my wife. Art is no longer with us, but when I get to be 80 I want to date a 40 year old women too.
