I have seen a lucite card shoe that has a window at the top that displays the next card to be delt. There is a provision to close that window at any time. Has anyone seen this or know the source if still produced?

Are you talking about a dealing shoe with a prism in it?

Been around for a while. They are still available.

PM me.

Yes, that would be it. Are they still made, and do you have a source?

I understand that some are locking and non-locking. I don't know the difference.

You can purchase one at cardshark.us. When there is no card pulled up it looks very normal, so there is no need for closing and opening for this particular one.

I believe that the shoe that Mr. Brown speaks of is the locking sort, as well.

Great. I appreciate the lead. I did not realize that these are so expensive! I will be purchasing some other cool items from the site though.

Jeremy there are a lot of things that you need to understand in the hustling game and two of them is minding your own business and 2nd is not waking the dead. Card Cheat is a hustler trying to make some money and there is a sucker trying to get something for nothing. CC is trying to sell him something and tells him to PM him. The guy doesn't PM him and is still writing to the board after the message was repeated twice to him; this means he's still fishing. The coat puller, which is you comes along and tells him about a site messing up a hustler's chance of making money. Now the bad thing about it is, is that the sucker got away and he didn't buy from CC nor CardShark.

Don't get offended by this post because in the beginning we all do something stupid until a hustler wake us up about it like I just did you. This is how we learn, by listening and experience. Note: Hustling is not just about card and dice cheating, it's about making money; we hustle in every aspect once you're in the streets.

For the record, if he's not a known cheat or you know him as a cheat; he's a sucker and should get treated as such.

Don't you think that I have avenues to get this stuff? ...but I didn't say a word and in the future, neither should you.

Oh one more thing, in the streets you probably would've gotten screamed on or hurt; I got screamed on. You only speak when both parties ask for a straightener (did any one see what exactly happened so we can clear this misunderstanding up) and if they don't you mind your business.

It's not a huge deal, but DOC has a point. That's the whole reason that I didn't post my reply to his query on an open forum.

As far as my financial interests are concerned, I had none to speak of in this deal. I simply know people who can deliver certain things, and other people that can deliver others. I gave no top secret information to this guy in the PM that I sent to him. What I said to him could've been said on an open forum, but I chose to be polite and send him the little help that I was willing to in the form of a private message.

I don't work gaffs, and I definitely don't work Blackjack. Primarily I work Poker, and a little Rummy from time to time. But, in my dealings with other hustlers I have learned where to get a few things.

DOC, thanks for speaking up - and you made a good point - but I have no issue with Jeremy.

CC I know you don't have an issue with Jeremy but it's better to teach him now than have him to learn on his own in the streets. So you have connections...we probably have the same connections through out the country because quiet as kept it's a small world after all. I'll PM you.

Hey, I'm sorry that I caused this mess. I needed a lead, and I got it. I have seen these things in the past and even made a crude one myself. I just have not been able to figure a few things out.

My purpose is educational and to add to part of my collection. From the info obtained, I am now able to make a better decision and use it as a collectible!

Thanks All....

If you go to The Barona Valley Ranch, a tribal casino 20 miles east of San Diego, California. Then they might just let you examine the one they have on display there. Just bung the Chief a few bucks.

Nice link! I was in Fiji a few years ago and played cards with a Chief (Who also drove a taxi for extra cash). He was using a nicely marked deck, after too much Kava, I took the gent for $50 and walked home.

If you were able to spot the work that easily, it couldn't have been nicely marked. And how were you able to take him down if he was playing his own paper?

My friend Bob and I played the dupe part well. We handled our cards in a rather care-free manner making it hard for him to spot the corners. The Kava kept all of us off-guard thru the game though. I geuss by nicely marked, I meant a cheap stripped marked deck. Fox Lake cards in a Bicycle deck box! The cards were well used.

But paper is normally read when you're dealing or when the cards are on the table, not when they're in another players hand?

Could the kava be influencing your memory of the event?

You can also make one of these prism shoes with a shoe a prism or a similar shaped piece of glass from your lighting store and some glue... total cost? ---> 30 bucks

Maybe...$30-$50 of material cost....But, to do it right with a locking mechanism takes hours of work. How much do you charge per hour of labor ? Not counting the secret mechanism, etc.

Of course, you can try of you want....if you fail, you just buy a real one Smile
